2nd ep of Villains is about Richard Kuklinski, aka 'The Iceman'
Peice of work that fella...found there is a 2012 movie on him with Michael Shannon and Kuklinski too that I haven't seen.

I got his book and gave up halfway through, google suggest that while he was a piece of shit that did kill people he exaggerated what he got up to massively.
-
@jegga yea you get a bit of that impression, although the podcast paints him as a nasty emotionless piece, although I think they are almost doing it like a psych analysis rather than looking into how many kills or anything.
Supposedly stabbed his Missus to make her stay with him.
Next ep is on Villenelle from Killing Eve.

Yeah I read it. Taught me everything I know...
Probably some exaggeration in the book, but have seen the psycho interviewed on a TB doco and he is a heartless nutjob. Was definitely a "how to make a killer" lesson when you hear about his father and his background. Started with animals from memory, then moved on. Classic stereotype really.

Haven't listened yet but a mate messaged me 'A captains cup' podcast about each captains winning run at the rwc.

I'm in a weird funk with podcasts.
I can't listen to true crime ones anymore, I'm just over them.
American broadcast voices are grating on me, so while I really enjoy Business Wars (for example) I just can't handle the voice.

I’ve been listening to timesuck, they are decent but I can’t listen to too many in a row .
I actually found this unlistenable. I don't mind a bit of comedy with my history but nothing this guy did was funny and his history wasn't focused enough to keep me interested. I struggle to believe he's an actual comedian. Maybe it's one you need to listen to from the first episode for the "jokes" to make sense.
I'm bascially just listening to a couple of film podcasts, British history podcast and the odd Freakonomics these days. Oh and I've started listening to the RNZ series Black Sheep random series.

Ah well I like them , his sense of humour is pretty fucked up though . His bit about squirrel finger puppets is probably an aquired taste too .
Brett Weinstein and his brother Eric have started their own separate podcasts , I think I prefer Brett’s but listening to Eric’s take on his one and only meeting with Epstein was good .

That was good. So, he's way funnier doing stand up than he is doing a history podcast.

Villains...this ep on Ed Gein, @Snowy might be interested in this fella, although mommy issues similar to Norman Bates.

Yeah his standup is pretty good imho .
It took me a few podcasts to get into his style . The one about the Austrian girl was really good I thought and the one about Mormons .
Martyr made is doing a series about Jim Jones . It’s pretty good imho , the first one about the social background of the time and the Latino racism towards blacks was something I hadn’t heard about before . The forming of Israel podcast he did was excellent.

Oh yeah Martyr Made is great. Haven't started the Jim Jones yet.
I might give Timesuck one more go since I found his stand up funny ...

Oh you obviously haven't got to the martyr made podcast he did about cannibalism and his pronunciation of polynesian words and names.

Hahaha, clearly not ... will go download that now.

Haven't listened to it as am in Aussie but apparently Teachers Pet podcast is good. Although was taken off the air in Aussie as case is reopened.
@Nepia have you listened to casefile. Has a none Aussie host.
-
How I built this is good. By this American life interview style with top entrepreneurs on their journey. Good host.

By the end I hated Teachers Pet. I was hate listening to it and wished I’d just read about the story.
What’s casefile? TBH Aussie broadcasting voice will probably annoy me as much as the American. 🤣
-
Yeah once I heard about teachers pet it had already been shut off from Aussie. Case file is a kind of crime stories one. I listened to a couple one on the founder of silk road.
Do you listen to gimblet medias podcast heavyweight it's sometimes good. The first one about the lost record that moby kept was good.
Espn 30for 30 podcast is good. Being an ex poker player i loved the queen of sorts episode.

I may have listened to casefile ... as I’ve definitely listed to a podcast about the silk row founders.
I didn’t realise you could no longer listen to Teachers Pet in Oz.
Will give the other two mentioned a listen.
