Thanks to @dK for the idea

@dK said in TSF Team of the Year: Vote Now:

How about a Team of the Decade - All Blacks v All Comers. If I new how to work polls I could probably set one up, otherwise I will leave it to the more technically inclined

Nominations are open in this sub forum

We'll collect names until Dec 31st and then run the polls in the new year

Once again players will only be up for one position each. We can discuss who goes where later (there'll be another thread where people can make their arguments)

    Top work @Duluth

Given the success of the ABs over the decade I don't think we have to be embarrassed about nominating NZers like we were for the TOTY ...

Yep. We can argue over the foreigners though.

Just throwing my 2c worth in again ... I'm noticing a number of nominations from the AB class of 2011.

I brought that up with @taniwharugby about Mils (and I'm a huge Mils fan - at his best I reckon he was better than Cullen) but his best years were in the 00s, and (repeating myself here) he struggled his way into the '11 team, so I'm wondering how one good year (2010) qualifies him for consideration in a team of the decade.

Similar with Andrew H0re - who was second fiddle to Kev through 2010 and 2011 then retired.

And BBBT - awesome 2010 an 2011 - but two years only as opposed to Sam Whitelock, who's dominated for 10 years, and BBBR who's been there for eight.

Just wondering why we're nominating when they have no chance of winning (well, at least shouldn't).

My question is were they so indisputably dominant during the two (or one) year(s) they were active that they a serious contenders for "(Insert Position) of the Decade"?

EDIT: I'm thinking there are some noms based on our memories that stretch back further than 10 years.

    Discuss.

@booboo at the end of the day, these are merely nominations...people get one vote, so will likely vote elsewhere anyway.

@booboo @taniwharugby But, but - how good was he in 2015, and how much could we have done with him this year? I rewatched the 2015 RWC Final recently and his 1st half (in particular) was an exceptional 40mins of footie.

His last name isn't Barrett, he wouldn't have got a gig

Apart from Thorn in instead of Whitelock, as Thorn was only for a year and the decision for Beady at 15, Ben on RW - pretty much right. I can see Bender on RW as that has been not to the quality of Left wing, or Fullback. So happy with that set up

BBC Sport have been running a poll

They have two teams the readers and the Rugby Weekly experts (Ugo Monye, Danny Care and Chris Jones)
