That "bat smash" sensor thing, or whatever they are calling it, looks interesting. Bat speed, angle, etc measured from the bat itself. Pretty cool.

Yeah, would have been interesting to see with Baz, his bat speed would be next level for some of his shots.

Kane butchers a run out. Just had to bounce it to Southee. Pretty disappointing stuff at this level, what a let off.

That's so disappointing - a chance to get their form batsman and almost open up an end (in relative terms). One thing I noticed in Perth was that the Aussies seemed to hit the stumps more than us.

Southee bowling well an appeal for LBW but it could have come off anything.

I like the tactic of keeping it outside off and frustrating Smith. Getting drawn into attacking his stumps just feeds him easy runs.

I lean towards agreeing with the umpire on the denied run. Smith just turned around and it him in the back, that's hardly evasive action. Not exactly controversial and it's one run, get over it.

Comms: "... if Santer can just get one to turn and put doubt in the batsmen..."

    Yes, if only.

I'm listening to Radio Sport, and Coney clearly doesn't think much of Santner...

You'd think they haven't seen him bowl before.

He's all class in the shorter forms and commands his spot there, but his game doesn't suit test cricket and I'm not sure it ever will. Bit like Harris.

Colin burgles Marnus - might have chopped on with his elbow - part of a clumsy leave, anyway.

Crucial breakthrough when Australia were getting on top.

Need to bulldoze on here! Get a couple more quickly!

Little known fun fact: For the last 3 years running, Marnus has won the Springfield lookalike prize with his portrayal of Ralph Wiggum when leaving the MCG
    🙂

Wade might battle his way to a hundred, but it's hard to believe he's one of the top 6 batsmen in Australia.

Surely Khawaja is better than him? Even a Marsh or two?

And Seedy G gets him - but, probably not as cheaply as we should have and needed.
