@Chris-B never done that drive, but google tells me this is like 15km or so...where I am to AUckland is like 176km and half of Aucklands 20,000,000 population trying to get home at the same time...your drive is peanuts compared to that

Anybody else see this last night?

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12305255

I live out in the sticks so not much light pollution and it was amazing. We were just sitting outside with some friends drinking too much and wife says what the hell is that? Perfect string of lights slowly going roughly north to south in a straight line that disappeared over the horizon. Then a little while later, a west to east line that faded out pretty much right over our heads as each satellite lost light from the sun I suppose.

My mate knew about the Starlink launch, so we knew what it was, but it was very cool to see.

can't find the clip I saw on Breakfast this morning, but they interviewed Sean Carroll who is a theoretical physicist, was talking about how Parallel Universes can exist...thought it was interesting, if not a bit confusing for my brain

If you have access to TVNZ OnDemand, it is about 1 hour 48 into this mornings show, although is other stuff about the topic online.

They should've got an actual physicist. He might have explained it better.

‘Harvesting’ high grade metals – such as nickel, gold, and cobalt — from plants just like any other crop is called phytomining, and there’s a lot of research happening right now to turn this into a commercial reality. But how does it work? There’s a select group of so-called ‘hyperaccumulator’...

Tumblr users often find things to discuss and argue over. This time they gathered together for a fascinating piece of info. Turns out, magenta is technically not a color.
