I'm having bad luck with TP. Needed toothpaste this morning so shot over to the Woolies metro near my place - lots of people wandering out with TP, I get in there to see the last 24 pack get taken.
Then had to buy a hard drive for work so went to the local JB hifi and then shot down to the Coles to see people wandering round with 18 packs of three ply ... get to the cage and they're all gone.
Discovered something this morning at my local Coles.
Was in the door at 5 past 8 and lo and behold they had loo paper!
Got myself an 8 pack! Woohoo!
Anyway, self service check out lady said that Tuesdays and Thursdays the 7-8 hour is for medical and emergency services personnel, whilst Mon Wed and Fri are the pensioners (old and disability).
Apparently the oldies and pensioners go full re-tahd and panic. Whereas the essential service peeps don't panic buy. They're basically educated and "normal" (my interpretaton).
Confirms what the Woolies check out chick told me on yesterday's unsuccessful loo paper hunt : Pensioners are the panic merchant's and keep coming back day after day for more.
Seems to me lack of education / common sense is a big contributor to the panic buying phenomenon.

Feral fuckers in my valley have started setting the mountain on fire
Some arseholes slashed the tyres of 6 ambulances in Kent the other day.
The local MP tweeted that she was breaking the strict rule of MPs to always be polite to non-politicians by calling them "miserable f**king scroats".
On the plus side, a local security firm immediately started providing free security for local ambulance stations.
I cannot fathom why somebody would do that. It would take some serious mental instability to think about doing that right now.
I'm a big believer in a No NHS list. I.e, you do things like above, you have no access to NHS, ever.

Amen to that

Some ameoba-brained fluffybunnies are actually coughing at police officers, shop workers and old people. The Crown Prosecution Service has had to put out a press release saying it's jail time for anyone doing it.
Hard to find a word to decribe these tossers. I'd suggest "Quades" but that'd even be unfair on that Cooper bloke.

Personally, I'd go with that Vlad the Impaler bloke.
Are....are we still talking about criminal punishment orrr......nevermind.

Everyone in the UK getting ready to clap outside at 8pm for nhs and key workers? Just heard it on the radio at work. It'll make me cry ðŸ˜

Well they'll either be at work and not hear it, or getting some rest. I don't wanna be that inconsiderate guy that wakes up the poor, exhausted NHS folk.

There's always the medieval approach:

Think they are doing a great job, but won't be joining in as the nearest house is 1/4 mile away and I personally find this sort of thing a bit cringe-worthy.
Avoid the group hug thing like the plague, though there were these two sisters in a squat in Camden years ago.....

Rishi Sunak has announced support for freelancers of 80% of last years profit by month. Also made it pretty clear that all freelancers are going to be paying full National Insurance going forward.
Those complaining about IR35 and arguing that they shouldn't pay NI as they didn't get benefits have just had that argument shot out from under them.
Be careful what you wish for - and get ready to pay 12-25% in NI as well as tax.

Yeah 80% of what you got last year is probably a LOT MORE than 80% of what they paid tax on for many - so that will also come back to bite!
