@Nepia largely as I don't like the other brands - had one iPhone ages ago and didn't like it. First one that's died on me and I normally got a hand me down when the wife upgraded.
But point taken lol
Hmm just saw Machpants last post... maybe it's 3 years old, got it after the S8 came out.
I was just joking, hence the
. I'm the opposite of you, tried Android and didn't like it so I'll always get an iPhone - but I'm not an early adopter and don't need the top model of a phone so I'm not paying the overpriced top dollar for the new ones.
-
@Paekakboyz it's funny, out of all the Android phones, Samsung I can't stand as they take android and fuck with it so it's basically unrecognisable.

A refurbished S9? https://www.kogan.com/nz/samsung/shop/phones/android/?price=400%2C640&page=1
I liked my S8, just swapped to Pixel to remove bloatware.
Me too, went from an S6 to a Pixel 3a, still gets monthly updates too!

@Bones cheers man, I'm good relatively familiar with computers and gaming related tech but a newb in regards to phones and OS.
So some of you guys have X brand of phone then drop a different OS on it? aside from Apple phones I presume?
-
@Paekakboyz I've got a Pixel 4. It's pretty good really, but I came from a Sony and really miss fingerprint unlock! Actually the Sony was a pretty nice phone too.
-
I got a Motorola G6 Play for $280 and I'm really impressed with it. Great bang for your buck.
The Motorola phones are a damn sight cheaper than Samsung, Apple etc, would recommend if you're looking for value.
Also the karate chop to turn the torch on is super handy.

Buy the highest range Samsung you can afford, and buy it grey import - easy. You won't be disappointed in a high mid range Samsung
Bought a Galaxy A50 at Boxing Day for $399. Been really impressed with it, plenty of battery, it's flagship level of a couple of years ago I suspect.
Failing that, that refurbed S9 looked pretty decent. There's just to much choice.
My wife has a Xiaomi phone, and it's been decent value.

@No-Quarter this conjured up a great image of someone holding a phone and karate chopping the screen, looking confused.

@taniwharugby dude some of those old school phones were super popular with people running illicit operations

My mate ordered one of these, was very very very very unimpressed when he found out it didn't click out like in the matrix! I think Nokia missed a trick when they didn;t include the click out into the reboot last year
-
@Paekakboyz that was my first phone, never had any issues with it, when I called people, or, they called me, or I called themback, or I charged it, cos that was pretty much all you could do haha

Remember how many phone numbers you could remember back in the day??? Now I can barely remember how old I am!
fuck yes. i was good with phone numbers. If i could have ever got a chick to give me hers, i wouldn't have even needed to write it down. Real pity i never got to put that to the test
-
@taniwharugby no GPS, easy to wipe... the list of why it was valued by certain folks goes on lol.
But the best bit - playing the snake game!!
