I agree.
I remember seeing fields with rugby goal posts in Oahu, but this team would have to be based at one of the universities (e.g., University of Hawai'i or Brigham Young) that have first class facilities.

If my dream came true, of a 'JANZAR' comp then a team in Hawaii would be an outstanding addition. Having a sustainable US team involved - and without having to travel to mainland USA - could add significant broadcast revenue whilst not further taxing the Australasian teams too badly in terms of travel. Also grate for Japanese teams to be able to play an overseas game that's not 12 hours or more away.

New Hawaii club backed by ex-All Blacks won't play in 2021 MLR
Kanaloa Hawaii, the club set-up by numerous ex-All Blacks, was launched to much fanfare but MLR now says they won't play in its 2021 season.

Isaac Ross has accepted his playing days in Japan are over, and will instead head to the USA to take up a player/coach role with Austin Gilgronis next year. The Ta$man Mako lock will team up with fellow former All Black Jamie Mackintosh for the Texas-based Major League Rugby side, splitting their time between playing and coaching the forwards. -
