What about the attacks though? No idea in attack. Rugby supporters in Wales for the 1st time are all in agreement on what a boring game it was. Wayne Barnes has been to blame by a lot of people though for this boring game

Barnes can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear though - hard to facilitate a flowing attacking game when there's little flowing attacking coming from either team.

All Wales had to do was stand still and make their tackles, I have seen more attacking intent and creativity from pub-teams.
Once they started throwing the ball around they started making ground, but it was just too late.

I agree with the consensus, it was a bloody dull game for the most part. The only real excitement was when France were piling on the pressure and in the end got nowt out of it. Bloody good defence from Wales, although France need to have a good look at their attack. Barnes was OK without being stand out, as DoTW says a very sympathetic call on the (non) stranglehold.

I am convinced that Eddy Butler wants to have children with Faletau. It's not just the number of times he mentions him but the sheer reverence that is in his voice. I find him the most biased commentator around. Just awful.

"The sheer power of Taulupe Faletau"

As he picks up the ball, goes 4-5 paces sideways and gets chopped.

Deserved result but boring as batshit.

We shared a brain tonight and it showed. We're not blowing overlaps, because you can't blow something you can't see. Very disappointing.

Still a win is a win.

Ireland to beat England today and the Championship decider is at HQ on the 12th :)

The French attack fared better when Trinh Duc came in, but it was far too late. He is one of the few French players with some flair and technique.

England in total control at Twickenham but unable to get over the line in the first half. Very worried that Ireland will pop up with one score and nick the win.

Brown scores for England 19-10. Ireland looking tired already.

Great tackle on Ireland's best - Henshaw by Jack Nowell who is probably England's only real spark.

There doesn't seem to be any creativity or invention by either team.

Solid performance from England. The main improvement so far under Eddie Jones has been their scrum.

All over. England 21 Ireland 10. England look organised and efficient, even if lacking flair. Ireland are going backwards and are not the force they were.

Yep, solid but uninspiring by England. George Ford looks seriously out of form, but the pack is getting back to where they should be.

England will be satisfied with their nights work. Highlight for mine was that tackle by Nowell.

It's back to the drawing board for Ireland I'm afraid.

Still too much stodge for me. Players in the NH seem intent on just running at the man instead of searching for space. Seem heavier too.

Too many stoppages in play as well.

Just an unawareness of what to do with space. How many times did England come close but just fuck it up by not making the extra pass! The captain leading the way...

Saw Steve in the crowd, getting a bit of pre-Ireland and Lions viewing in, good man.

England with 60% possession and 72% territory in the first half...to lead 6-3 at the interval.

If Ireland had had a lineout that match could have been closer.

England will probably do the slam, I imagine.

Hope Mike Brown has a good suit, I suspect he will be needing it this week.

I've just finished explaining to a bunch of England fans that you can't go kicking the ball out of a players hands and that just because Murray is committing a ruck offence by holding onto the ball doesn't excuse Brown's actions.

He bombed a certain try with a massive overlap to his right.
