I may as well get in on this

Starting weight in January 99kg.

Now 95kg, target 90kg.

Did weights on Monday, went hard out, killed myself for weights for rest of week, but went for a 20 min run on Wednesday.

Played 18 holes of golf yesterday, and went for a 15min run last night.

My plan is just to eat better, exercise more regularly. Have stopped my twilight hockey, so can do a little more running and weights. Am playing golf at least 1 time a week, as I want to get back to being good at this, I need to manage my weights properly because to be good at golf you can't have your muscles changing too much.

So doing what I did last week was not the best idea.

After a weekend on the piss and eating takeaways in Auckland, got home, went our for 25 min run...decided to run up my hill instead of avoiding that part of the street...had to walk a section, just too fecken steep!

Will be out a couple of times this week, muscles still a little tight form weight session last week :idiot2:

Oh, I also need to set a few goals for golf...more to do with consistancy I guess, something has always eluded me as a golfer. But am keen to break par on a few different courses this year, have done so already on one course I never managed to when I was actually supposed to be quite good!!

had 2 30 min runs this week, did some stretching and even decided I should do some golf practice.

Weight 95kg

Golf
Score - 76 meh (par 70)
Putts - 35 <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> (so much for the practice)
Fairways hit - 7/14 👅
Greens in reg - 8/18 <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Of those 8 greens I hit, only picked up 2 birdies, overall, pretty shite!

DO you have a goal of getting to a scratch handicap? Or is that a step too far from a 4 handicap?
Given my time I have to play at present, scratch is possibly a step too far, I'd like to be a consistant 3/4 handicap, when I was playing almost fulltime (as a 19 year old) I did get down to a 2 handicap.

Am now on a 4.5 handicap, but still need to drop out some of my inconsistant holes, like 6's on par 4's, 8's on par 5's and so on. Just be happy to be shooting low to mid 70's all the time, if you look at my scores (as you possibly have) I am shooting mid-high 70's at present with the odd 80 chucked in to keep me on my toes!

Only managed 1 run this week, still 95kg

Played golf today, 76 on par 72.

Putts - 31 (should be 24-27 per round) ave 33
Fairways hit - 7/14 (50% ave) target 10/14
Greens Hit - 9/18 (47.2% ave) target 13/18
3 birdies from those 9 attempts (targetto be converting 30-40%) ave 29.15%
2 3 putts and 1 double bogey.

Reasonably happy, was 1 under par with 5 holes to go.

I played 9 holes yesterday and hit 44. Not too bad since I have just started playing again after 3 years break.

What clubs do you use? Heres my new set, its a bit mix and match as some were off ebay.

Callaway FT-3 fusion driver
Titleist 904F 3 wood
Taylor Made Rescue 3-4 (thinking about getting a 2)
Callaway X-20 irons 3-PW
Titleist Vokey spin milled 56degree wedge (I want to get a 46 and 60 wedge too one to replace my current PW)
Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 putter

Callaway Biggest Big Bertha 7 deg driver
Wilson Ultra 15.5 deg 3 wood (old reliable, been the only club stayed in my bag!
Wilson Staff Irons, just got them in Dec
Ram 52 deg U groove wedge with 0 deg bounce
Ram 55 deg square groove spin wedge
Balata face putter

I probably need to look at getting mineself a flop wedge, but to be honest, havent really found a need for one, more often than not, opening the face on the 55deg wedge is enough.

Assume since you are looking at a 60deg wedge, and have a spin wedge you must be a (or used to be) a pretty tidy golfer. Otherwise, sounds like you got some good gear though.

I peaked at about a 12 handicap using a really crap set of clubs. I've spent about $2000 on this set because I want to get serious again, and I think I have the potential to break 10 which is my aim this year.

The only clubs I didn't get off ebay were the irons (which I wanted clubfit) and the driver (superceded by the FT-5). The rest I paid about 50% retail price.

The putter was probably the most expensive at $325 but scotty camerons are really nice. I do however want a mallet putter, such as one of those oddysseys.

Funnily enough, my putter is a nondescript no brand one, some days it is hot, others bad, but then I have always been a bad putter, so putters have never been a high priority for me, had had expensive ones too...they all run hot and cold!

Am spending more time practising the 6ft putts at moment, they are the most crucial ones, they are the ones you are likely to miss for birdie or save a par from, if you make more of those than you miss, you should be able to drop a few shots off your score right then.

Exercise - 2 x runs, 1 weight session, hour or so putting practice, still 95kg

Played yesterday, shot 83, par 72 <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Putts - 37 ave 32
Fairways hit - 7/14 53% ave
Greens Hit - 7/18 50% ave
1 birdie from those 7 attempts ave 35.3% (these stats include 2 rounds not on here)

Am hugely pissed about that score, actually hit the ball off the tee very well, of the 7 fairways I missed, 4 were by inches. On all the par 5's, hit fantastic tee shots, 1 was only hitting an 8 iron into it, in a position to his green for 2 and ended up bogeying 2/3 par 5's, the other I missed a 5ft birdie. A few of the par 4's, knocked a couple of drives out over 300m, <60m to green, and have made bogey or worse.

Had 2 double bogeys and 2 triple bogies! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

My short game, fell to peices yesterday, need to get down the range and hit some wedge shots!

I played just 9 today with my new irons I had never it. I think it destroyed my confidence and I hit one of my worst games ever.

Need to also hit the driving range before I get back onto the course so I can get used to the new clubs.

    Fairways - Ave 48.6% (-1.4%)
Birdie Conv - Ave 29.4% (-5.5%)
