Because away games against the Blues and Waratahs would have created more of a colour clash. So only the Hurricanes and Crusaders were options. Plenty of fans bought it though.

you say that like they applied that logic to any other games, blues had to wear their away jersey at home when we played them because we were made to wear our away, same when we played the bulls in SA

At least from the away jerseys we've seen (Crusaders, Blues and Canes), the collars and cuffs seem to be in the right colour, this year. I assume it will be the same for the Chiefs and Highlanders. Black and green, respectively?

@Kiwiwomble agree, the maroon ones from a few years back were super nice. Even the yellow ones from a few years back.

Is it a kind of outline of the lower South Island or something? It's a kind of light "army" green, which just seems really odd.
I loved the Canberra green and that has no relevance either though I guess.
