From 11-0 to wild card round loss to a divisional rival. That's gotta sting.

not just a loss, but a beat down. Shipping 4 ints, 28 points in Q1 (most in playoff history), and getting smoked is remarkable. I think Ben's record against the Browns was 24/25 ... just insane really.

Well done the Browns, they deserve some good after all the horrible horrible years they have had

The Browns win was even more impressive when you consider their head coach and 2 influential players weren't in Pittsburgh because of covid. The commentators also mentioned the team had only practised once in the last 2 weeks, and that some of the players had only just met some teammates.

I just read that the browns were missing their two top cbs. Stick a fork in Big Ben. The Steelers are probably one of the few teams that pay 3 or 4 first round picks for Watson and still win that trade. They are so good at developing players. They've got to be thinking about it.

Things aren't looking that rosey for Steelers - an ageing team going up against Lamar Jackson, a finally competent Browns and an exciting Burrow in the division is all of a sudden not easy.

Lurie: Decision to fire Pederson not about Wentz

Lurie: Decision to fire Pederson not about Wentz

Doug Pederson has been fired as Eagles coach three seasons after he led his team to a Super Bowl title.

Predictable, and he signed his own fate with that stunt against WSH

@nzzp That non-fumble call at the end by the refs was absurd. Just an awful ref decision.

It's amazing that whatever the sport, even the richest league in the world, with a million HD replays, the referees can blow calls.

Thankfully it didn't change the result.

    it was an absolute shocker.

I'm only just tuning into Rams Hawks now - what's been going on? Rams D outstanding?

Rams D is outstanding but Seahawks offense has been really bad lately. It's Russell Wilson and nobody else.

    @KiwiMurph totally right here.

As a lifetime 'Hawks fan, that was the most disappointing game of the past several seasons. They really underperformed! 😞

The offense in particular was really pathetic.

Whilst the D started off the season slowly, they really got it together mid-season and under Ken Norton Jr. and played really well including in this game.

Meanwhile, the offence went backwards all season. The offensive line leaked like a sieve and allowed way too many sacks and if not sacked, Wilson was constantly under pressure.

I also think that Brian Schottenheimer, Offensive coordinator, hasn't performed well. His play calling this season and last has been very very frustrating. He's just done 3 years in this role and maybe give him 1 more year and if there is no improvement, fire his ass.

Finally, I really don't think that head coach Pete Carroll had a very good year as well. Some of his challenges were poor, very poor. He also looked rattled in that playoff game and that didn't help his team.

The guy they really need to move on from is Wentz. Total deadweight for that franchise but his contract is probably unmovable.

There's nothing worse for a franchise than a qb that's just below franchise qb level at the end of their rookie deal.

Schotty is a disaster zone. I'm a jets fan and he is not well remembered. Rex might have had his flaws but its a massive what if about what might have been if he'd been allowed to pick his own OC. Not sure it's enough for the 2009 or 2010 teams get acrossthe line though.

    @Cyclops agreed.

I had forgotten his time at the Jets.

I change my mind, given his past and 3 years already as AC, time to get rid of him is now!

The Jaguars have hired Urban Meyer as their new head coach, turning to one of the most successful college coaches in NCAA history to help spur a turnaround of one of the NFL's worst franchises.

College coaches haven't always succeeded in the NFL but Meyer has won 3 National Championships with Florida and Ohio State. He'll need plenty of luck.

@Bovidae Having Trevor Lawrence as your QB is a good start.

@KiwiMurph And they've got a lot of salary cap space, potentially $100M.

Robert Saleh is the new Jets head coach.

He's definitely the exact opposite from Adam Gase.

As a 49ers fan he has been excellent as the defensive coordinator. He comes across really well. Well deserved.

He did a great job with SF, and has come up through the ranks. Seems to be well liked by his players, a pretty solid hire if he can make the step up

I love the Saleh hire. This is the best I've felt about the jets leadership since Parcells. Also feels like the first time ownership are butting out and letting the football guys take charge. He's expected to bring Mike LaFleur with him too, so hopefully some of that Shanahan goodness for the offense.

Sam Darnold looked best in a West Coast offence as a rookie, could mean that they'll pass on a qb and either trade down or grab Sewell.

Bienenemy maybe hurt by the chiefs likely going all the way to the sb, no one willing to wait him out and risk missing out.

Packers dominating Rams up front. Running at will - and with Rodgers it could get ugly out there. 25-10 at the moment.

Rams had 4 possessions; 2 TD, 2 3+out. Not super exciting right now

@nzzp Rams should have never signed Goff to that huge deal. Such a waste of salary cap.
