@mariner4life Scotty M is a talented player but the over dribbling up the top is not going to win you games. Other than Cam, the other guys are just mainly standing and watching. Dumb offence

After a couple of those sets he was coming back yelling at the coaches. Clearly not happy.

Sloan has asked the 36ers for a release. That didn’t take long....

The Breakers didn't play well, but fuck me the refs let the taipans away with murder. Totally swallowed the whistle with the snakes on D

@canefan I find it so frustrating to watch NBL games, the officiating is majorily inconsistent, from one end of the court to the other and from game to game. It certainly helsp if you are on of the fancied aussie clubs!

The kiwi comms are increasingly happy to tell it like it is. If you are wearing a breakers uniform you aren't getting the calls! At least until its too late to matter

I only watched the 1st half but wasn't surprised by the final result. The Breakers were ice cold from the 3 pt line and missed so many layups.

@canefan We are getting Mulligan and Frank as comms so I don't think the Aussie comms will be so critical of the refs in these games. Usually the criticism is that the home team gets the calls. The problem for the Breakers is that they don't have any home games.

Oh yeah I'm sure the aussie comms weren't saying anything (I did say Kiwi comms....). We didn't help ourselves, Ty Webster is as much harm than help, CWeb was cold, and Tom has been sub par for some time. We just aren't a strong team right now. And we are getting hosed by the refs too

you fluffybunnies are having a fucking laugh.

After Saturday and the soft fouls that were drawn to grab a win to have the entire discussion of the game how hard done by you are by the refs is a joke

and to call the Taipans a "favoured club" is a joke as well.

I didn't go last night, and we won, so either i get pissed by them fronting up when i'm not there, or a declare myself the problem and stay away.

The Breakers need to find a way to score more points. They are the lowest scoring team in the competition.

Making their free throws would help. It was like watching Reggie Miller at one end of the court and Shaq at the other.

So how does this bloody Cup even work? Games also count towards the regular season? I am so confused. It's good having games every day though

Cairns lost to Melbourne last night. We had the lead until the 4th fucking quarter. And then in the 4th, they couldn't miss, and we couldn't hit. I actually think the 4th Q fadeouts and lack of movement are because our depth is shiiiiit. The same guys are playing huge minutes, and we are paying the price at the back end, because guys are too tired to move. Some of the baskets that were given up were fucking soft.

Noi was big. Machado is good but needs to trust others in the 4th. Oliver was okay. Losing Deng fucked us because he's a big minute guy (even if they aren't high quality this year). All due respect to our cohort of "ichs" but they are not guys that play big minutes on good teams. The two kiwis can fuck entirely off.

Melbourne aren't even playing well, have 2 of their main guys out, and are still either wining, or having the opportunity to win, every night. That big hillbilly Jock Landale is fucking lethal from 3. Was really impressed with Baba as well. Can't see them losing a series come playoffs.

    @bovidae firstly, fuck your face

second, that's a fucking bullshit turn and chuck (just like that finals game 2 a few years back) and nothing but net? fuck you Abercrombie

third, Djeric's 3 to tie the game was equally bullshit.

Breakers played well in the 1st half against the Wildcats then fell away badly in the 2nd half. Finished with a nice little run to get it back to 6 to eventually lose by 10.

So we are basically the Wallabies on the hardwood floor...

I didn't watch the game but I note that C Webster is still out. Relying on a 6 or 7-man rotation puts a lot of pressure on the starters and fitness.

Corey’s missed the last two games and we really miss his outside shooting because it creates many other opportunities on offence.

Finn had a big game which was great, but man he had to work for his points. Iverson has stepped up and is playing big minutes with no Lowe.

A bold move by the Breakers but probably the right one based on performance so far.

The morning after the inaugural NBL Cup came to an end, two teams decided to make significant changes to their respective rosters.

New Zealand Breakers parted ways with import wing Lamar Patterson, sources told ESPN, with the team then signing Levi Randolph to fill that vacant position.

Randolph, a 6'6 wing who last played in the NBA G-League, signed a two-year deal, with a team option on the second season, sources said.

Over in Brisbane, the Bullets parted ways with import guard Orlando Johnson, sources said.

Patterson then signed with the Bullets, sources said, filling the vacant spot left by Johnson and rejoining the team he excelled at from 2018 to 2020.
