    Completely forgot Lord was injured too. So we are down to playing loose forwards in the second row, and not particularly tall ones at that.

    Surely we can call up Pierce as an injury replacement if the Blues aren't using him.

    Fully contracted players cannot be called up by other franchises.

    @stargazer
    Wasn't serious, just pointing out that Pierce is carrying tackle bags and we have 3 injured locks.

    We could make an exception and give them Blackwell

    It's amazing how great he's been in NH, mostly as second five

    I guess that the style of play suited him better there and he was able to develop his own game rather than try and become something that wasn’t natural to him.
    There’s been a few players over the years that have been average to good here but very good there and it isn’t that the level is lower.

    Parker covering lock says it all.

    Brown will be covering lock. Parker to play 6 when he comes on, but might end up there at the end.

    Finau obviously rated ahead of van den Hoven as a lock too.

    Chiefs better hope on not having many scrums in the last 20 minutes.

    I'm expecting a tough night in the scrums from minute 1. A lightweight second row, Angus not back to 2019 form doesn't bode well. Avoiding scrums will be the order of the day.

    @bovidae I saw van den Hoven at the Coffee Club today and he had a strapped knee so he's done something.

    He's listed as playing for the Dev team tomorrow.
    So is Lowe. Wasn't he meant to be unavailable?

    Me thinks Michael Pulman has a problem that the Blues are rising above the tag of being the easy beats of NZ Super rugby.Granted they have not been able to master the Crusader benchmark,but if he had been watching the last two years of better results ,the interest in their improvement is a happy turnaround for their fan base.The so called hype certainly doesn’t come from within,the squad.The comment that ill discipline is hard to eradicate is hard to attach to any single team.They all have their moments.The Crusaders no exception.

    @trodthesod Yeah, wouldn't worry too much about it. It doesn't matter how good or bad we're travelling, the majority of rugby fans in this country will always want to see us lose 😉
