Bit of a reaction overnight.
Arm is quite bruised. Probably as much to do with sleeping on that side, then getting all twisted up trying to avoid pressing against it.
Woke up about 1.30 with headache and bit of a fever (You know the too hot and too cold at the same time thing). Had to get a blanket! In March! In QLD! And pretty much stayed awake.
Somewhat improving into the morning, but hey "flu like symptoms" = day off for booboo.

@scribe I went to a hub too and I was really impressed with how it was being managed. The flow of people allowed in was strictly controlled but they were still getting the numbers through. When I got through the registration process ( couple of minutes at most) and got in to the main hall, there was a queue of around 30 people waiting to go into 8 vax stations. Five minutes of queuing and I was done. All the time I was there the queue remained about the same number, emphasising the control factor.
All round very impressive.
Quoting this from the UK thread to compare.
So in Aus vax is given at GP clinics.
There's a bit of bureaucracy: had to go on line and fill out a new patient form for the clinic, get the health summary from my GP to confirm eligibility for Phase 1B, go wait in the waiting room and fill out a four page consent form, go through the questionnaire again with the nurse, then get jabbed. I'm thinking they were only getting through about one person per 5 mins.
So it's no wonder that Aus has only jabbed about 280,000 people, when the aim is 200,000 per day.
Having said that, I am assuming there is still limited supply until CSL comes on line.

So thoughts on an appropriate punishment for the Brisbane chap who was tested for Covid as a close contact of a positive case, then threw a party for 25 of his besties while waiting for his result and subsequently tested positive himself?
Broncos season pass?

Seems it was 'only 5 not 25.
Not sure what alien has stolen Anastasia's body. I'm shocked Brisbane isn't in full lockdown. Doesn't she care that we'll all die?

Queensland has recorded 10 new cases of coronavirus, four of those locally acquired, with Brisbane to go into a three-day lockdown. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said six of the cases were overseas acquired and four were community transmission, two of those were linked to the 26-year-old landscaper from Stafford who tested positive to the highly infectious UK strain on Thursday night. Two of the cases have an unknown origin. Another case is a nurse from the Princess Alexandra hospital who had worked on the COVID ward. Greater Brisbane will now go into a three-day lockdown as of 5:00pm today and masks will be mandatory. This includes the Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton and Brisbane council areas. "Two are known cases of one of the previous people, then we have two under investigation but we believe one of them is a nurse from the PA hospital," Ms Palaszczuk said. "Now what this says to us is the fact that there are now more community transmission and these people have been out and about in the community.

Fucks sake. Finally got a few days off and planned a cathartic motorbike ride, and the fisheads decide to put us in lockdown again.

and on some pretty small pretense as well
the very cynical part of me says this keeps the Qld Health story from above off the front pages

Lockdown ~2.4 million people over four community transmissions.

and the distinct possibility of some bizarre state-wide mask mandate. Sydney and Melbourne are two times closer to Brisbane than i am, why do i have to wear a mask?

Especially when you assume the 'vulnerable' have already been vaccinated.

Feel for those in the tourism/hospitality industry. No confidence at all to prebook anything.
A major pub had to shut down early Saturday evening because one of the positive cases visited there for about two hours seven days before. The owners are bloody wealthy and can probably take the hit, but that's a hell of a lot of income to lose. Wonder if the staff still got paid? All this because of a visit a week earlier? Surely the damage would have already been done if he was spreading anything.

stupid fucking idiotic Qld Government motherfuckers!!!!
State-wide mandatory mask wearing. From 5pm. There has not been a case of COVID in Cairns outside of the Quarantine Hotels since May last year. We are 2100km from the "hot spot" most people don't even have access to masks, and yet have to wear them just to come to work!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now we have to wear a mask to go any fucking where. I think we have reached a new low point of stupidity.
FUUUUUUCK!!!! Hotels were booked solid from this weekend. I bet the cancellations start rolling in! fucking fuck you.
