Dearden to cowboys - how do you reckon he will go? Not sure how him and Chad will go... to different style of players and a weak forward pack

And now i understand the Townsend signing. An experienced professional half to teach the young fulla. Townsend will do the bulk of the organising and kicking i imagine, and let Deardon just play.
The Broncos are fuuuuuuucked. Clearly Seibold was the issue... I reckon poor Kevvie gets home at night and just hates his decision. Hates it. They have nothing in the spine. A bit of attacking talent out wide but no way to use them, and a whole heap of cap taken up by young forwards who only show up once a month. They need to burn the place down and start again.
-
A little under a 3rd of the season done, and it is looking like only 3 teams can win it
Penrith, Melbourne and Souths.
The Roosters i am only counting out because injuries. Parra i rule out based on history.
Everyone else is looking at 2022. Even if they make finals it doesn't matter.

They need to bring in a Adam Reynolds and a leader in the forwards and they could be ok... they have the quality they just dont seem to have the leadership or belief in what they're doing.

They seem to come out firing. But then as soon as something goes wrong all heads drop and they go back to being shit.

yeah, they need a lot more than that. They have holes everywhere, bad contracts, a coach with little tactical acumen, and a complete lack of heart throughout the whole squad. I am not sure they can attract a good player, especially because the last thing they need is another massive contract.

Start by showing the kids they need to perform for the whole match. If I was kevy I'd fire milford and drop Croft. Hopefully the kids might realise they need to perform or leave. Start staggs and dearden in halfs.

Oh well another loss to the Storm. It could be worse, we could be the Tigers...
and, because he is the only target that might work for the media, the drums have started for Maguire
Firing him would be just another terrible decision in a long line of terrible decisions at Leichhardt. Cleary fucked that joint and then jumped ship. In a crowded field, the contracts for Packer, Reynolds and Mbye are up there with the worst in the NRL. The list of players the Tigers have lost that are now stars is startling.
There are some terribly run clubs in the NRL.

Yeah not just Clearly, but he did make some terrible recruitment decisions which have continued even in the Madge era. That list of players the Tigers have lost during both is second to none and insane and considering that it includes Tedesco and Papy. Even Corey Thompson looks like Nofo in his prime at the GC right now. Imagine having both on each wing.

Warriors team: 1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 2. David Fusitu’a 3. Adam Pompey 4. Rocco Berry 5. Ken Maumalo 6. Reece Walsh 7. Kodi Nikorima 8. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown 9. Wayde Egan 10. Kane Evans 11. Josh Curran 12. Ben Murdoch-Masila 13. Tohu Harris 14. Jazz Tevaga 15. Leeson Ah Mau 16. Bunty Afoa 17. Bayley Sironen 18. Jack Murchie 20. Sean O’Sullivan 21. Tom Ale 22. Taniela Otukolo
Hopefully this means they fight the Curran charge, interesting halves selection..
-
@bayimports That's a lot better than Sunday's team. I like RTS at 1 and Walsh at 6.
Should be a tough game. Cowboys are on a 3 game winning streak and have Taumalolo back.
-
Roger going all out for the team in his last year. I'd like a fully healthy Roger coming to Auckland/Blues though.
It was also revealed that Tuivasa-Sheck required stitches before kick-off after dislocating his finger during the warm-up at AAMI Park.
Prop Kane Evans said he thought 18th man Paul Turner was going to be called in to replace Tuivasa-Sheck.
“It was a blood bath. I thought he wasn’t going to play,” Evans said. “It was popped out and there was blood everywhere.
“But he just popped it in and they had to stitch it up, then tape it up, and he still played hard so hats off to him.”

Warriors forward Josh Curran was successful in seeking a downgrade to his careless high tackle charge at the NRL judiciary and is free to play against North Queensland this week.
Curran was fined $1350 after pleading guilty to a grade one charge over his tackle on Melbourne's George Jennings

Decent team all things considered. They're really are missing Fonua-Blake though. He is the guy who makes our pack go from ok to great.
Also does Walsh have the kicking and distribution game to play in the halfs? Him and Nikorima seem to similar players to play together in the halfs...
-
wow.
The NRL is reportedly investigating splitting the comp in half, running two conferences. If you want to go backwards and fuck a national comp, here is your blueprint
Conferences will be Sydney, and everyone else. You'll play everyone in your conference twice, and everyone from the other conference once. Top 4 from each conference to play finals. Winner for each conference to teh GF.
Did the fucking Roosters and the Rabbits come up with this? Sydney clubs play in Sydney basically every week, and are guaranteed a spot in the GF, also in Sydney. Everyone else travels around the County and across the Ta$man every week.
This is a terrible idea for every club who isn't from Sydney.

I think Walsh demonstrated through his two try assists that he has the speed and distribution to play at 6, kicking game though is still an unknown. The team are apparently 1 week away from getting CHT back, so its probably a stop gap with the fit players they have left, plus O'sullivan was hit and miss.
Definitely misssing the go forward from AFB, you are not wrong there, at least Curran can play this week plus Tohu back, so should have a better balance in the pack.
Just hope lolo doesnt inspire the Cows like Turbo does to Manly. Cowboys on a small winning streak and with lolo will make them hard to contain.

Yeah really bad idea in my opinion. Will end up like the MLS in usa
-
@mariner4life what in the fuck! is it open season for fuck up your own cash cow (I mean comp) or something?
No doubt the NRL is a brutal comp - but changes like this aren't needed, and reek of Sydney first and screw yous fullas.

yeah and supposedly 2 new teams (1 probably in Brisbane and the other in New Zealand), logistically though bundling every team out of Sydney into one conference, while Sydney teams have no travel is a terrible idea.
-
@bayimports lol at 2 new teams. Where exactly are the players going to come from?
