@bayimports lol at 2 new teams. Where exactly are the players going to come from?
Brisbane as no one wants to play there right now and from the Hurricanes as they want to play NRL
...No idea mate, im guessing the whole heap of players who are not good enough for first grade..which again doesnt inspire you with confidence in the proposal

wow.
The NRL is reportedly investigating splitting the comp in half, running two conferences. If you want to go backwards and fuck a national comp, here is your blueprint
Conferences will be Sydney, and everyone else. You'll play everyone in your conference twice, and everyone from the other conference once. Top 4 from each conference to play finals. Winner for each conference to teh GF.
Did the fucking Roosters and the Rabbits come up with this? Sydney clubs play in Sydney basically every week, and are guaranteed a spot in the GF, also in Sydney. Everyone else travels around the County and across the Ta$man every week.
This is a terrible idea for every club who isn't from Sydney.
A better idea is three conferences, one of which goes immediately to the grand final. The top teams from the other two conferences play against each other in a qualifying final.
We'll call these conferences "Balmain", "Sydney" and "Others".

there are a bunch of guys not good enough for first grade playing at the Dogs, Tigers, and Cowboys
-
@antipodean well, with teh Balmain conference hitting the GF every year, at least we would get a bunch of records every GF
Most points conceded
Biggest Losing Margin
Most GF losses in a row -

Yep I dont disagree, I think Bennet has already unoffically announced he will coach (or director of coaching) for new Brisbane team. If they insist on salary caps with a smaller pool of top talent then they may have to start using a draft model to as well, but that hasnt been mentioned anywhere..yet

Not sure Wayne is a development coach anymore. He's a guy that brings good players together and gets them playing for each other. And he's really bloody good at it.
There is no equalisation measure in the NRL. The cap doesn't mean shit when rubbish teams need to pay huge overs to attract talent, while top clubs can offer unders for the chances to win rings and play Origin (which pays heaps). Big clubs also have an easier time of it recruiting young talent for the chance to develop in a good environment. I mean, i didn't hear the Tigers mentioned as a possible destination for that 16 years old "superstar"
Penrith have shown the way up, but it takes years, a massive nursery, and a lot of luck. And they will get picked apart as the cap starts to bite. And poor teams will pay overs for their players.

Most GF losses in a rowMy plan is to see if players actually want to win or just get paid.

wow. have consensual sex. someone illegally films you and tries to release it. and you get fined $5,000? You puritan fucks!
The NRL are idiots.
-
Also reports of Adam Reynolds to the Sharks on a 3-year $2.4M deal
And, in proving that clubs don't learn lessons, the Broncos are apparently willing to throw approximately all the money at Mitchel Moses
-
and Tigers sign Simpkin, so looks like they fnally got one right and keep this young kid
Naden also to Doggies as Barret pinches another one, actually thank he is a really good signing as long as they can keep him from partying.

All the dogs need now is 5 forwards to replace the shit they have at the moment

Paul Kent reckons SJ was offered back to the Warriors at $800k a year and was told thanks but no thanks
he reckons it was the senior player group that said no.
grain of salt and all that

Jordan Rapana is a grubby mouthy deadshit
Bunnies have played some pretty football tonight
4 losses on the bounce for the Raiders
-
Not the best ever performance from the bunnies last night - Defence especially.
Although benji sure does still have some brilliance left in him!
What do people think of Walker in fullback? I think he just needs some time there and he could be something special. I prefer him there with benji and Reynolds in halfs. Mitchel in centres?
What about this backline:
Halfs. Marshal
Halfs. Reynolds
Wing. Johnston
Centre. Mitchel
Centre. Greyham
Wing. Gagi
Fullback. Walker(Yes I know I spelt some names wrong)

i was thinking last night how good those 3 looked combining in attack. And will Latrell get back in to the side. But then Walker dropped that bomb. Benji looks just as average as ever on defense. And they are paying Latrell far too much to play him at centre.
It's good to have options because Benji isn't going to play like that every week.
Jack Wighton was unplayable in the last 10 minutes and grumpy old Wayne isn't going to be happy with it
Also, if you need a pick-me-up today, watch Sticky's press conference from last night. Apparently the Raiders only have themselves to blame (here are all teh ways the ref fucked us, again, like they do every time we lose). But I'm not a whinger!

Looks great as long as Reynolds' back holds up.
Actually discussing that at breakfast this morning and some agreement that Souths appear to be in second gear.

He has the worst rotations in the NRL, who seriously only uses a starting prop for 20 minutes. (especially after resting one of his star props). So technically he is part right, he only has himself to blame
