Coronavirus - Australia

it's loony rant time but
yet another "scare" where someone has a super-contagious virus mutation who has been all over the fucking shop before he gets tested.
And a few days of testing reveals...
no community spread. So far after about 25,000 tests in a couple of days, the only person who has tested positive is his fucking wife.
Change. The. Response. In. The. Face. Of. Evidence.
And by change the response i look directly at Qld Health officials. Putting someone on 14 days of lockdown because they happen to have visited the same place as a known positive is overkill in the most extreme. There is a more than likely chance you will be in lockdown despite low low risk longer than there will be restrictions where you have come from. That makes no fucking sense.
Even good old NZ freezing the flights looks hugely overblown.

@mariner4life You're talking about a health system run by that inveterate simpleton Jeanette Young.

Have registered with NSW Health. No idea what vaccine I'll get because I'm not in this phase.
Are you 40-49? Should be Pfizer. Funny that they had the media release about 40-49s a couple of weeks ago now yet I don't know of anyone who registered at that time that have been offered the vaccine yet.

@nta said in Coronavirus - Australia:
@nepia @voodoo I also did the "are you eligible?" survey and found out I'm not. Not yet anyway.
And yeah - 44
Two of my work colleagues were "eligible" due to other conditions but haven't got the call yet.
But the initial media release suggested that they were just going to get on with giving the Pfizer vaccine to all, but looks like Gladys just followed the Scotty from Marketing playbook of making a song and dance announcement and then just sticking with the normal slow roll out anyway.

Travel bubble between Melbourne and NZ suspended for 72 hours.
-
@antipodean yeah, wife just took off from wellington to come back to melbourne, she made the call first thing this morning and looks to be paying off

Do you get a call? I didn't. Just booked the jab.
Which I think is a reason why the roll out is poor.
People waiting to be called, when I don't think they do. -

People waiting to be called, when I don't think they do.When I registered they said they'd notify me when I can book. So I don't know.
My sister in NZ got hers because she was walking the dog at the racecourse at 5:30pm and they had doses left, might all just be down to luck.

Would it affect travellers to Melbourne?

Are you eligible yet though?
Just further to the above, I did the eligibility quiz, and was, then it gave me a link to the local clinics. But the former didn't seem to link to the latter.
