Hurricanes v Reds

@nepia They should have dropped Kirifi, but instead they move Flanders to the bench for Prinsep, and Evans loses his spot on the bench.
Well, I guess PU-J withdrawing (whatever the reason is) is good in a way, although I'd rather have seen Proctor getting a rest; Toala may now get 2 minutes.

@mikey07 The only reason for him to stay (if they offered him a contract) would be that he couldn't get a contract somewhere else. But he'll need a very good NPC first, because who is going to offer him a contract if they've not been able to watch him play recently?
Somehow, I doubt they'll offer him a contract though. They'll probably have the next Wellington schoolboy line up.

Im hoping Jonah and Brad put in a good word for him at the Chiefs.
When does Flanders contract expire, imagine how good a Cane, Flanders, Jacobson back row would be.
Essentially, what I’m saying is that all the good Magpies should go to the Chiefs.

@stargazer wouldn't be surprised one bit if Riley Higgins gets a contract if he performs in the NPC.

Holland's should resign if we lose this game, coming bottom of both SRA and SRTT is not acceptable. The man is a useless tool, competitively, who speaks platitudes but achieves nothing. I'm so pissed about the crap tactics, selections, and long term development/signings of the canes.

@machpants to be fair, he should never have been given the role. More deserving coaches out there tbh.

He did seem to be fast tracked

@bovidae They could have given Holland the reigns for 2020 and then interviewed a new coach for 2021. Someone like Clayton McMillian would have been better suited and probably deserved it more. He took the Wellington Under 19s to the title and has done well with Marist St Pats, Bay of Plenty and other teams over the years so deserved that step up to Super level. Thankfully the Chiefs gave him a shot and he's been pretty bloody good for them so far.
The pain won't just be ours for long though, Razor wants Holland in his AB setup when he eventually gets the gig so the jokes on everyone else when Simple Jack starts selecting James Blackwell instead of Sam Whitelock.

@canes4life Giving Holland a new contract is an entirely different matter, and I agree with you. I was just responding to the comment by @Crucial.
The other problem is that a new coach usually wants to bring in their own coaching team which might mean having to pay out the existing assistant coaches if they aren't wanted. That can get messy and expensive.

D. Larsen does not fall into that category!
