I had to go over to richmond on sat morning for a physio appointment...it was a ghost town, could see whole blocks of bridge street with maybe one car and similar on the footpath, Melburnians seem to be taking the lockdown seriously
In contrast, I had a friend send me a pic from the Coogee rock pool yesterday where she was swimming laps.
There were groups of people straight up just sunbathing.
I went for a run at Dee Why beach yesterday, loads of groups milling about chatting
Ah well, all the COVID police are out west dealing with the riff raff - so no risk. ๐

yeah, its pretty weird actually, my wife and I went for a run/walk along Manly yesterday, there was a group of 10+ adults standing chatting at Sth Steyne, they hadn't moved when we went past them 30mins later. Just completely ignoring any rules. Not even wearing active wear!
The beaches folk are just totally ignoring this - a combination of being over lockdowns, having no cases here, beautiful weather. Better hope it doesnt spread here!

You actually want lycra to be a rule?
I want it banned. For men anyway.

you wouldn't believe the amount of activewear around here, it's like a "my husband is rich enough that I don't have a job so I exercise all day" badge of honour

Tomorrow's cases in NSW: 109
Early call!!!
Suspect this is deliberate from the government - set up a social media account posing as a rebel and get the number out early. Soften the blow and all that.
If it was an actual leak they'd have stomped it by now.
tik tok fella wrong today, just a paltry 98 cases, we're almost out of this!

Active wear annoys me on women too. Wear it in the gym, if youโre just walking your kid along the beach wear a short skirt ๐

@nepia seems to be that way. Everyone has forgotten how to social distance though. Some seriously punchable conduct going on
The social distancing was good when I got my second, although I was in between a couple of attractive 20/30 something year old women in the queue so I wouldn't have been too bothered if they'd forgotten for a period.

While there was some totty around, and quality as well, unfortunately I was stuck between an old Indian lady who knew how to social distance, and an annoying old Asian couple who definitely didn't.
When they called the 4:45PM line to get ready, every dickhead just clumped up as close to the entrance as possible. Eventually I and one of the staff started waving everyone back, and then that didn't work I just went to the end of the line and started tellling people to move until we were stretched out 250m around the corner onto Herb Elliot Avenue, and distancing appropriately-ish.
Didn't get into the building until 6PM. Wore one of my Kathmandu vests so I didn't have to take off a jumper for the jab - huge mistake given the sun went down and the wind picked up Warm chest, cold arms. They also made me swap my cloth mask for a paper one at the entrance which I thought was a good move.
As expected, my visiting a non-NSW Health location for Dose 1 created an issue where all my shit had to be deleted and re-entered by one fo the nurses. But at least she could converse while she was at it, and said that basically once it got to the after-hours everything tended to go to shit. Plus there was a massive ramp up from bookings when lockdown was announced.
Once I actually got into the inside waiting area around 6PM, everything was calm and everyone friendly despite the delays. Got out just before 7PM including 15 minute wait time.
The systems they've stood up are pretty impressive and if they cut the numbers in half it would have been a doddle. I suspect people like me with special cases and the need for interpreters (I saw a fair few) slows things down and that cascades into delay once you get enough volume.
However, the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze: I went to the men's just before leaving - keep in mind that this is one of the most sanitary environments outside a hospital you'll see, with masks everywhere, hand sanitiser at each stage and cloths stratetigcally placed around the bathroom basins and taps for cleaning staff to rotate instead of having to do a full deep clean.
While I'm washing my hands, this fucking clown comes out of one of the stalls, having taken a piss, and just walks straight out. "Great", I think, "Now his cock germs and Delta Variant are all over the door handles!"
Seriously. What a fuckwit.

seriously the key to those mammoth queues are not arriving early and you get staright into a moving one. You will always have people you dont know how to distance, but for me at least i didnt have peopel trying to clump, most could see what was going on and followed.
not so sure you should sucked the door handle though..
