The Netherlands win gold in women's hockey, beating Argentina 3 to 1. Never in doubt.

Geez, for some of the Dutch players it's their thrid gold medal!

Of the ten Olympic Games where hockey has been played, 9 were won by the Netherlands! Dominance.

We're reaching the stage that there are only finals in athletics. Lots of medals to be won in the next two hours!

Don't get how Mrs Boo doesn't immediately dial into random sport just to see who wins...

Could be the random Polish wall climber or the Netherlands hockey chicks

Have decided Mrs Boo doesn't get sport.

Don't try and reconcile it. Chicks are weird. We'll never get them

If you are in the market for a more comfortable companion, the Polish Javelin thrower has to be up there for her athleticism.

@rancid-schnitzel where I lived in Brissie, cycling on bike paths earned an immediate ute-chase from unemployed bogans. In 100% humidity. Great times.

Where and when was that? I live in the western suburbs and there are dedicated bike paths all the way to the city. Would be perfect for running but nope we’re banned. Cyclists are well looked after here.

Ipswich! Quite a few years ago..

That explains everything. Ipswich is bogan central. But it isn’t Brisbane. It’s a completely different city.

I'm happy that Allyson Felix got herself a bronze in the 400 m final but Shaunae Miller-Uibo was in a class of her own. It helps to be so tall.

If I was a betting man, I would have put my money on Kipyegon.

@bovidae Yeah, I wonder whether 1500 is too short for Hassan.

Her 10,000m final is tomorrow, by the way.

Modern Pentathlon is weird, I like the combination of running, swimming, shooting and fencing, but why would you have riding there, when the athletes are randomly allotted the horses - way too much luck involved. The German leading athlete has just lost her almost guaranteed medal because she couldn't get the horse to work, and she was crying her heart out before and out during the attempt.

The chance that your horse has already been taken for an earlier round by a worse rider who has barrelled through several fences.

Although the event is based on an officer escaping from behind enemy lines and stealing a random horse.

I got roped into the uni MP team after one guy broke his leg falling off a horse, as I could ride well. Ended up doing two MP competitions having hastily learned basic fencing technique. It is a bit mad, but awesome awesome fun. @Rapido the horse draw is an absolute mind fk alright, you only get to sit on it for 20mins and have a couple of warm up jumps before you're up.

    Displays tremendous horseman/womanship.

    Fantastic result for French GB
