It's back!
Again!
After @Duluth 's successful resurrection of the TSF TOTY last year, and now I've paid my penance for messing up the polls a few years ago (looks like it was 2016), we're about to launch the 2021 TSF TOTY! The authoritative, prestigious and only truly correct judgement of the best XV rugby players on the planet this calendar year.
Nomination threads are being built as I type (well not really, will actually start sometime after I've finished typing this). The collective wisdom of the TSF community will be called upon to propose who they believe was the best player in each position, or at least who was worthy of consideration, with reasons why.
Debate is encouraged at this stage as we will take the pros and cons and present them in the poll threads which should be up sometime around New Year. But please be clear if you are nominating, and please be specific as to why.
Am expecting a diverse XV in a year where the All Blacks were less than dominant.
The rules as they currently stand:
- Nominee must have played at least one Test Match.
- Form in all levels of rugby is admissible as evidence, but please refer 1.
- Nominees must be backed with some decent reasoning.
- I will make up all other rules as we go along.

I think that was someone else
I assume players will only be eligible for one position? How is that position deiced? Executive decision from Booboo, Test mins played, some other method?

For me there's only three nailed-on selections from NZ
15 Jordie Barrett - playing in his right position at last, he's been a revelation. World class
13 ALB - has he ever had a bad game in Black? Conrad-like consistency
9. Nugget - Up there with Carter and McCaw for meToo pissed tonight to think of other countries

I assume players will only be eligible for one position? How is that position deiced? Executive decision from Booboo, Test mins played, some other method?
Actually I did think of that and forgot to post it, and I'm comfortable accepting nominations for multiple positions.
Probably only affects loosies and mid-field, and shouldn't any overall position winners (unless the Hurricanes fans spam the polls).

I would struggle with nominations as I only really watched the ABs this year and only a couple of them deserve nominations, and that's being generous.

And before anyone kicks off, i am including myself in that. I mean, i watched the England v Aus game and it was dogshit so i couldn't tell you who played well.

yeah, the 7 was really good, so was the 8, and i am pretty sure one of the midfield. couldn't tell you anything else about them, or if i even saw them again.

True, the problem is we normally dominate all and sundry, so just watching the ABs and no-one else isn't a problem as it's clear we are the best team so deserve at least 14 out of 15 players in the team of the year. Outside of Aaron Smith and maybe Jordie I just can't make a strong argument for any of our players based on this years form.
