Jason Tatum is quite good at the basketball

Smart and Horford miss game 1 thanks to Covid protocols!!
Guess when you've just beaten the Bucks without Middleton over 7 games, you can't complain too much about losing a couple of your own blokes for a game or 2

No Lowry tonight, but Vincent is playing well.
The Heat defence is scrappy and swarming.
Celts threatening to get into the lead here in the 4th but Heat keep answering.
-
that run to start the 3rd changed the game completely.
And as you say, the Heat are so good defensively, once you are chasing the game it gets difficult.
-
Celtics were always going to lose that one IMO, coming off a bruising series against the Bucks and without Smart and Horford.
They are currently $4.20 to win the title with Sportsbet and I think that's overs. I think they are better than the three other teams remaining and what I saw in Game 1 doesn't change my view.

also, draft lottery was today
Magic get 1
OKC get 2 (and 12)
Houston
Sacramento
Detroitif i read it right, the Lakers don't have a pick in the first 2 rounds??!!
I thought they had one provided it wasn't in the top 10, in which case they have to give it to NO

Agree with all of that.
Question is when they get Smart (foot) and Horford (Covid) back. Smart was a big loss today, made it a lot easier for Herro (who has been terrible these playoffs so far) and Vincent to get going. They're both important cogs in that Boston defense.
I've got Boston in 6, provided they get those guys back.
-
@voodoo Miami will want Lowry back as soon as possible too given his experience and gritty play.
@barbarian only point I’ll make to counter yours is that the first game in a playoff series can be a banana skin for the home team with the expectation and pressure not to drop it.
-
i know it's the first half of the first game of the series, with the away side coming off a game 7 but
there are some danger signs for the Mavs here
Klay is a non-entity, Curry is working hard and pulling players around but not scoring, so Poole and Wiggins are doing the scoring, and making it look easy. Mavs can't guard everybody, and the Warriors are so good at moving the ball, and have so many guys who can shoot.
Remember last season when Poole was in the G-League?
-
Ugly game. Mavs had heaps of great looks in the first half, but 11-48 from 3 ain't gonna get it done.
If you can't stay with GSW when Steph and Klay are off, you're not beating them when they come good!
I reckon this series goes long, I've got Dallas bouncing back in G2
-
weird playoffs really. Seems like every game is a blow out
Honestly was the closest series of games the first round sweep of the Nets?
-
When the Warriors wanted to turn it on late in the 3rd and into the 4th, they did and quickly the Mavs lead disappeared. Then it was the Mavs chasing the game.
Steph played and shot well, Poole was deadly on the switches, Looney was in the right place at right time and had his best scoring night in ages.
Klay and Wiggins played good supporting roles.
Mavs didn’t do much wrong in that game from an offensive standpoint. Spaced and shot well. Defensively the dribble penetration of the Warriors did hurt them - hence why Looney scored big.
And exciting game and now let’s see if Warriors can win away in Dallas.
-
Very good start here by Miami. Love the post work by Bam. He’s been super aggressive and effective.
None of the big guns have fired yet for the Celtics.
-
@ACT-Crusader looks like game over already. Only one team in it.
-
@KiwiMurph 20 point leads sometimes don’t mean much with todays 3pt shooting. And the Celtics damn well shoot a lot of them….
-
Haha, love it. Jimmy Buckets goes old school. Gets the And 1 and then spins the ball on his finger.
-
That was nasty by Wiggins. Posterised Doncic
-
It’s a make or miss league! And the Mavs certainly missed their fair share of wide open shots. They kept the ball pretty secure, they created opportunities when the Warriors went to a zone and a box-and-1. Guys like Bullock, Kleiber and Bertans couldn’t hit the side of a barn.
Warriors rebounding and efficiency was what won them this one.
Down 3-0, it’s going to be hard for Luka (who looks banged up) and the Mavs. Warriors losing Porter Jnr did slightly affect them. He’s a bigger body that can defend and hit a shot.

@ACT-Crusader oooof brutal
