Crusaders putting a lot of pressure on the Chiefs, turning the ball over close to the Chiefs' try line, but then knock on. It's a Chiefs' scrum on the 5m line.

The Crusaders U20s pack dominates. Scrum penalty won, now a new scrum.

Sloppy play from the Crusaders centre; a Chiefs player hacks the ball away towards the Crusars half and it's almost a 50 : 22.

Now, Crusaders have regained possession and are back near the Chiefs 22.

Jack Parker attempts a kick at goal, but misses.

    It's still Chiefs U20 7 - 14 Crusaders U20.

Thor Manase scores after being on for 30 seconds. He runs like a back

Great try to Thor Manase. Tahu Kemara converts.

    It's 14 all.

Joe Brial immediately hits back for the Crusaders U20.

    Parker can't convert.

    Chiefs U20 14 - 19 Crusaders U20.

Looks like they got the lineup slightly wrong. That was Jamie Hannah in 5 with the chargedown rather than Sio Latu

The momentum has shifted to the Chiefs U20s.

Chiefs' scrum on the Crusaders 5m.

    @Stargazer said in Chiefs U20 v Crusaders U20:

Chiefs' scrum on the Crusaders 5m.

And they got shunted back. Bartlett at loosehead and Tupaea at tighthead. Crusaders still with their starting props, I think

One of the Crusasers players sees yellow. Quick tap Kemara, and he scores himself. He also converts his own try.

    Chiefs U20 21 - 19 Crusaders U20.

Kemara apparently has a touch background and it shows. Some good stepping - throws some nice passes.

The Chiefs U20 steal the ball from a Crusaders line-out and kick the ball out.

    It's half time.

    Chiefs U20 21 - 19 Crusaders U20.

This game is a really good contest.

The Crusaders look the slightly stronger team (especially their pack), but the Chiefs have been very good in the fewer opportunities they got and have taken advantage of Crusaders' mistakes. Some great individual performances.

I'd like to see what the Crusaders backup halfback is like - Shearer looks a little slow at times. Although, I expect with the wind behind them this half, the Crusaders might kick a little more. Parker has a big boot on him, so wouldn't be surprised if they make use of that.

I agree with the commentator that the Crusaders U20 scrum isn't going well.

Average officiating. That looked like two knock-ons.
