Coronavirus - Overall

Optimism is good, i guess.
This Harvard study is slightly less.
And I’ve only read the summary of this paper but it was not too optimistic either.
And I’m not as optimistic as you are that today’s kids have the same spinal, mental and intestinal fortitude as grandpa’s generation. With impeccable timing last nights’ CBS 60 Minutes, their flagship news program, did a feature titled “Crisis” about the psychological damage teenagers have undergone from Covid lockdown. Understand, leftie concern troll 60 Minutes loved lockdowns 18 months ago, but they’ve done a full Tony Hawk reversal, having seen the stats and studies, now they’re sympathetic and trotting out teenage girls talking about how they want to kill themselves.<
I wouldn’t give them that much credit for their faux empathy. They created this environment for kids out of their own projected fears. We knew kids were not negatively affected by this virus from the beginning yet they had to surrender their lives to protect grandma or some other unhealthy person. Of course they will never look themselves in the mirror and accept that they were selfish and that they created the problem. That would mean accepting responsibility and admitting that they were wrong. They will fein sympathy and probably ask for more money for schools to deal with it.
And the kids are soft because the parents are. They are just a reflection.

I have tested positive but thus far have no symptoms at all.
Touch fuckin wood.My daughter had that the first time, zero symptoms (Delta, unvaried as was 11 at the time). 2nd time around got Omicron (I assume), still wasn't vaxxed (still 11), and was like a head cold.
She's pretty fit though maybe that helped. Though it seems more like luck is the prevailing factor to be fair.
Good luck mate!

Trying to Google around. Seems this does happen.I think Coronavirus is quite widespread but due to herd immunity and weak symptoms, people maybe don't notice. Mrs M has to do a Lateral Flow test every day when visiting her mum in the nursing home and she's had it twice in the last 6 months with absolutely zero symptoms.
Hope it stays the same way for you.

Trying to Google around. Seems this does happen. The range of symptoms is wide. From sniffle common cold or little to none, to full blown medical emergency (generally for those with predispositions)

@voodoo no luck at all. She is a fit child as you describe her. Kids rarely die from this virus when healthy.

Hey, this is a fresh novel idea. But maybe we need to slow down and not be in such a rush?

@MiketheSnow I have seen some some this “unexplained” neuro deficits. Thing is that did not dx it as GB but it presents like GB. Blood clots were an issue after they chased their tails not wanting to admit the obvious.

“New data suggest that the damage from shutting down schools has been worse than almost anyone expected”

@Kid-Chocolate no shit. No one ever saw that coming
Meanwhile, here in Canada where people are dropping like flies because Covid is different to the rest of the world, mask mandates most likely will be reinstated in the autumn and the 5th booster is not too far away with kids 0-5 now been approved of getting a vaccine that does precisely, dick.

It has been great for future govts who would prefer their populations not to critically think for themselves and just do as they are told 😉

I'm not reading back through the thread so apologies if this has been posted before but science has virtually finished on the virus origins. This article also contains links to published articles.
I had to laugh at this line about the size and popularity of the Huanan Market.
*And the papers show Huanan is hardly the perfect superspreader site that some suggest.
