Sotutu and a couple of others?

The criticism of Sotutu used to be his work on defence. 26 tackles one miss. At AB level competing with Ardie and so much better than Jacobson

    Hoskins, Paps & Akira.

Thought Perofeta did OK and RTS did some pretty good stuff on defence when he was on - despite being owned by DH.

Reiko was anonymous and I thought Beauden stank tonight.

Good call. The lineout meltdown asked them to do a lot of work. Choat got through a crazy amount of work in his 47mins too

Went for Paps as he had a huge impact, but I thought the Blues 6/7/8 were really good on defence the whole game.

Sotutu, Papalii for his guts (literally) and Perofeta.

Whilst Akira got through a lot of work he just wasn't impactful enough for me.

    Sotutu a clear standout.

Had Choat for his first half and Perofeta for his second half.

@KiwiMurph If you noticed some of his tackles at the goal line he blunted a lot of the crusaders momentum. I think we want him run like a gazelle but his work was in the tight last night and especially since the Blues were starved of possession. I still think he needs to run strata lines and use his big body to get over the game line instead of doing his fend thing.

I think he runs where Rangi tells him to, which is out wide (which is what the Big Ginga did the season he had at 6 too), although I did notice in the second half he'd effectively moved in field by necessity.

@ACT-Crusader It's funny how we view a game, I remember Choat exactly once in the first half, and that was a close up of him in a stoppage. Not saying he didn't play well but I guess I was just watching different areas of the match.

24- tackles for Sotutu, 15-1 for Akira and Dalton and Choat got through a lot as well. Loosies kept us in it for as long as they could.

Can’t win games losing 9 or 10 lineouts in the wet. Add in a few wobbly scrums and you are in for a long night.

Annoying thing was when we had the ball there was points to be had. Crusaders stopped us at the source, and we never reacted to try and counter. Throwing over the top to Heem is such a low percentage play in the wet.

As others have mentioned, Dalton as captain was hugely missed in the first half.

At this point I don't think it's ever going to change. It's like expecting Beauden to start becoming an excellent punter.

One of the work ons that PGS was given was to use foot work going into contact. I'm sure the coaches have metrics about the best ways to get post contact metres or keep the hands free for an offload etc etc

@KiwiMurph lol possibly although running straight requires less skill.

I hope his other work on is falling over the tryline.
