The date of the final test last year (vs France) was pretty much the same as England this year. IIRC the Welsh test was outside the start of the test window last year.

It's outside the Test window.
The second and third paragraphs in that post is more of a conspiracy theory than the first.

England aren’t against revenue sharing for outside of window matches. They’re broke, for a start. However they have previously refused to pay the amount that the ABs wanted, obvs SA asked for less

Eddie rings the changes - a bit:
England: Steward; Freeman, Tuilagi, Farrell (capt), May; Smith, Van Poortvliet; M Vunipola, George, Sinckler, Itoje, Hill, Coles, Curry, B Vunipola.
Replacements: Cowan-Dickie, Genge, Stuart, Ribbans, Simmonds, Youngs, Slade, Nowell.
Persisting with Billy V seems stubborn to me, I can only think of one time he really bent the line with his carrying last week. Simmonds made more ground with the ball than Bill and did so the week before and in his cameo against Argentina. I like Mako as a finisher but his mauling in the RWC final v the Saffers still haunts me. True, Genge didn't have his best scrummaging game last week but overall he's a far more aggressive scrummager than Mako. Hill lucky to stay as Ribbans looked the goods last week. Still only one flanker in the 23 - why? Nowell lucky to retain his place in the squad IMO.

ABs played Japan on the way over and Wales outside the test window. Wallabies played Scotland and now Wales outside test window etc. So all bsaically played the same number anyway.

@Catogrande who on the bench are you unfamiliar with?
Thomas Du Toit is fourth string tighthead (with Nyakane and Koch not available). Has been around the squad for a while now, but doesnt get many opportunities due to the depth we have in the position. Best known for being fucken massive, but probably a step down from Koch scrummaging wise.
Hendrikse is young nine that. Was first choice for much of the rugby championship. Very technically correct scrumhalf with a great boot.
Libbok is a flyhalf (probably the most unknown player in the side). Had a couple of years as journeyman moving between the bulls and the Sharks. He moved to the stormers in 2021 and has been amazing since. There have been calls for him to be more involved since Pollard and Jantjes became unavailable, but Rasnaber have gone with Willemse and Steyn rather. Solid all round flyhalf with a bit of pace. Threw a gem of a pass last week against Italy to set up the final try.
Moodie is a very you winger known mostly for his defence. Very good in the air, but less of stepper than Arendse or Kolbe.

Van Staaden and the ones you mentioned mean little to me. Not sure I’ve seen anything of them. Look forward to seeing what they’ve got

@Catogrande van Staaden is nuggety groundhog openside that spent a season at Leicester (so I assumed youd know him). Hes been having trouble with concussions recently so havent shown much form coming into this tour

Cant understand how England can be broke when they were charging extortionate ticket prices for the ABs match of up to £800 per ticket. The stadium revenue from the autumn internationals..let alone the advertising not to mention the food/drinks outlets must be swelling the coffers surely.

@Jailbreak7 revenues were down from £167M to £97M in the last accounting year (2021), with a loss from the previous year of £27.1M. There was an accounting profit of £20.5M in 2021 however due to the largesse of debenture holdings which reduced a future liability on the books, but that was a paper profit only.
Broke is probably not the word but they haven't made any proper profit for some time now. It is clearly not a sustainable situation.
