Missed all the rugby this week. But the breakdown between teams is

    5 Crusaders
    8 Chiefs
    1 Highlander and Hurricane

Ardie would have been a shoe in if it wasn’t for his brain fart. Completely dominant in that opening stanza with two tries. Roigard unlucky to miss out to an inform Brad Weber.

Ardie really went off the boil after that as well. Managed through the rest of the game but seemed to hold back a touch.

IWL better than Vai'i IMO. Early times but Rayasi is very impressive this year. No brain farts so far.
I would give the best right wing nomination to Telea who was very good once again.

Telea was unemployed. Hardly featured in the match.

    Stuff's team of the week

    Crusaders 6
    Blues 2
    Hurricanes 3
    Chiefs 3
    Highl;anders 1

Roigard from the Canes was a must pick this week. Jordie misses out and fair enough as he made the final scoring pass for the Waratahs. But otherwise he had a good game. Proctor was also VG but not a glamour player. But has stepped up this year after a VG NPC last year. Numia is also playing much better this year than last years SRP

Still to see the 2nd half of the Blues Crusaders game

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/131546119/super-rugby-team-of-the-week-crusaders-win-key-all-blacks-duels-against-blues

In total, six Crusaders feature in Stuff’s team of the week.Fainga'anuku would be the power winger option instead of Caleb Clarke.

Fainga'anuku’s tryscoring feats on Saturday – especially his effort when he swatted off Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and then outpaced him – were made all the more meritorious because he revealed afterwards that he was carrying a rib cartilage injury.

It was a personal win for the Crusaders No 11 on Saturday, while Richie Mo’unga and Dallas McLeod also got one over Beauden Barrett and Tuivasa-Sheck.

Still to see the 2nd half of the Blues Crusaders game

interesting to compare to rugbypass, i thought TUJ was a huge presence for us when it came to front foot ball, hunt could shovel the ball on and generally not loose ground

Burke at 15? Surely someone was better than him. The best I can say about him on the weekend was that I don't recall any major blunders.

A bit off topic but what would be your form team so far (eligible NZ players only) ?
    Mine :
    De Groot
    Taukei'aho
    Lomax
    Retallick
    ?
    Finau
    Papali'i
    Sotutu
    Weber/Roigard
    MacKenzie
    Fainganu'uku
    T. Umaga Jensen
    Aumua
    Narawa/Telea
    Stephenson

I could not find a lock to partner BBBR : Whitelock has been sidelined for weeks and Vai'i goes missing sometimes. It's the same with PPP. Maybe the most constant in his performances is Cameron Suafua but he is not a standout either. Bird has been good in his outings but he is not even considered as a starter at the Canes. So who ? Gardiner (he's just a stop gap in the Crusaders team as he is more a 6 than a lock) ? Barrett (pretty anonymous so far) ?
I could not make a choice between Roigard and Weber. The latter is slightly in front because of a bad Roigard's performance from the bench. The same for Telea and Narawa. Both have been outstanding so far.

Solid team, but I’d have Proctor over Aumua. Proctor has been exceptional and was sorely missed against the Chiefs on Saturday.

Also when he was fit, Blackadder was playing the house down so maybe he deserves a mention.

@cgrant He was active around the park and tidy in what he did. He was the distributor while Retallick and Taukeiaho hit up the hard yards, with support from Jacobson, Sowakula, Dyer and Norris.

I'd pick Ainsley at TH. He's more prominent around the field than Lomax has been, and his scrummaging has been strong.

Yeah that's basically what I said, but I didn't ignore the negative aspects. He's got good hands and geez the kid gets around the field. But as soon as he has to do actual tight forward stuff, meh. Gets stopped dead hitting it up, like a flea if he hits the ruck. It makes him seem smaller than he is.

Sorry, I forgot Proctor. Yes, I would take him over Aumua. He could be a bolter for the ABs if the likes of ALB and Goodhue don't come back strongly.
