We had plenty of chances though but finishing

Arsenal definitely should have got something out of the game but as you say lacked the killer instinct on front of goal.

I give up with VAR though.

@Bovidae I lot of inconsistencies. Understand the reasoning for Havertz's goal. I am wondering whether because we roll around the ground a bit whether we don't get some calls we should. Romero should have been sent off. Where is the consistency there and hitting someone in the face seems to be okay sometimes.

@broughie My problem with that VAR handball decision is that the ball hit Cash's arm first so either both are pulled up, or neither. You shouldn't make a distinction between a defender and an attacker when both were accidental.

There is VAR controversy every round, and it's not the technology that is the problem but the muppets looking at the TV screens. Much like TMOs in rugby...

That’s not VAR you’re arguing with, it’s the law. Law says if it hits a defenders hand by accident it’s not a pen, if it hits an attackers in the act of scoring it is a free kick. Not a VAR problem, a law problem.

Spot on. But apparently it is only clear cut if it is the scorer who handles - if it is the guy who passes to the scorer then it may be ignored.

The current weirdness is that a bad foul missed by the ref but viewed by the VAR as a possible red - if decided that it isn't a red then the guy does not get a yellow despite it being an awful challenge.

Sounds like they are talking to Nuno Espirito Santo. He did well at Wolves, not so well at Spurs

But doing slightly better this morning by knocking out one of the financial fiddlers on penalties in the League Cup - Congrats!

Following it on BBC sounded like a bloody dire game but I'll take it First Cup semi-Final since the Europa League 12 years ago.

It's a big risk - on paper he performed wonders at Wolves but the squad he had was star studded, full of Portuguese internationals and they still had a very conservative style of play.

Yep - I really don't see Nuno as an upgrade on Cooper.

Whoever comes in has to improve the team from Day 1 or the terraces will quickly turn ugly.

If they want to try and stay up they might have to give Big Sam a call

Watching the penalty shootout Pickford looked so close to getting a hand on many of those attempts. It doesn't matter how they go in though. Listen to the Everton fan before the last penalty. 🤣

Pickford moves off his line for almost every kick though Most glaringly for his save

4 consecutive away wins in the prem for the first time ever, we bow down to our Spanish overlord! Couple of beautiful headers from Dom today as well, great win. The second yellow for Forest was a dismal decision, but we have had our share of howlers this year.

Thought the Luton affair and sacked manager from Forest might take the wind out of our sails, but we’re still going

Liverpool-Arsenal was a good game - intense. A draw was a fair result I thought even though TAA hit the crossbar. Zinchenko remains a defensive liability. It's very close at the top of the table.

Spurs start strong but Everton win the second half, Tottenham winning out on the back of some brilliant goalkeeping by Vicario. He really has been a find after the disappointment of failing to sign Raya. Considering the injuries and suspensions, Ange has performed a minor miracle to see us into the top four at Xmas
