The game is much better to watch this year; refs aren't dishing cards for incidental contact to the same degree they have been in the last few years.

Really? I pretty much stopped watching because of it. Can't bebothered watching lopsided contests, so watched highlights to see who won.

Probably why the Blues took it out, because I didn't watch the full 80 of all of the matches...

I saw enough to know that I will be well pissed off if Hoskins leaves though (and that's not just from the highlights, although he did feature a lot).

I hope you watched the final, one of the most complete 80 minute performances I've seen. Worth watching a replay.

Sounds like it's confirmed that Rieko Ioane will go on sabbatical next year. Also that Heem will be back for one more year. Wilson claiming that Zarn Sullivan is staying.

Plummer, Barrett, Perofeta, Sullivan, and Forbes - that is serious depth.

deeper than the 3 10/15s that the ABs have!

So, definitely need a new 6 with Aki going.

Probably need a new 8 with my expectation that Hos disappears.

Suafoa and Segner at 6? Our area of strength just got eviscerated.

    tick for excellent vocab.

Any rumours on new hooker, prop, wing, and midfielder? If only Rieko Ioane and Caleb Tangitau leave from the backs, and Beauden Barrett returns, then that would leave only one spot for a centre/wing. Xavi Taele?

Ekuasi would be an good option to come into the loose forwards if Hoskins rumour is true?

Sullivan re-signing would be interesting... feels like there is barely room for all three of Plummer, Barrett and Perofeta, let alone Sullivan as well. Where does Sullivan see himself getting game time?

Didn’t he have a desire to play 10? Doesn’t matter anyway, he’s behind an AB either way.

I believe he did but not sure it went as well as he expected.

Yep, watched all of the final live. Was a lot to like. Reminded me a bit of the Athletic Park wet weather AB game (1996?).

Just hope that they find some means of penalising players for indiscretions, and not fans, by sending guys off and destroying the contest. I can accept cards as a part of the game, but they shouldn't be a deciding factor. If I want to watch 13 guys I'll watch league, or the way some games go it's more like sevens.

Anyway, the Blues are a team worth watching again that is for sure, after a lot of years where it was a struggle to do that (but I did).

Berry certainly did that I thought. Chiefs got one card but Berry was hardly card happy.

Berry did a terrific job I thought. Not many talking about the refereeing in the final is a great outcome.

I understand if some thought the final was boring or one-sided but watching a disciplined Blues side for 80 minutes is a treat I haven't often got to savour. Stern Vern has been the ticket, hope the standard doesn't slide next year.
