v Tasman.

Saturday night's game shapes as a contest that could very produce a spectacle well worth watching. On the one hand Ta$man will bring a pack that likes to bully opposition and provide time and space for Banks Fonotia and Havili to punch holes. They rely a lot on there set pieces especially there scrum and rolling maul. There work at the breakdown is dubious but they exploit it well. Hawkes Bay have a pack more than capable of standing up to this (they showed that against Auckland). The backline if at full strength can create try scoring opportunities, but these opportunities have to be taken. The whole mindset has to be one of being the bully not the bullied. Northland showed the way by forgetting about reputations and getting in there head by tackling hard and constantly. Forget all about bogey teams, the points ladder or any other bullshit, and rip into these guys. As I said Northland showed it and so did Manawatu. Now it's up to us. Stand up be counted and show pride in that Jersey.

- Mark Abbott
- Trent Boswell-Wakefield
- Tony Lamborn
- Fa'alemiga Selesele
- Brad Weber

18. Tolu Fahamokioa
19. Ross Filipo
20. Ben Hamelink
21. Chris Eaton
22. Billy Ropiha
23. Ryan TongiaNo changes compared to the team that played Southland last week. Considering all the injuries, this is probably the best team we can field. I wonder whether we are going to see Sam McNicol at all this season; bit of a worry how long his recovery from concussion is taking.

That looks like the strongest possible HB team (excluding injuries) so I am holding out hope
-
Hawkes Bay missing more tackles than they have made so far.
Ta$man playing like a team, HB like a group of strangers
Hello demotion.
-
They need to pull Weber and put on Eaton.

There is a lesson in why drinking alcohol is bad for you kids
-
And then Eaton gives away a try by throwing it 10 meters behind every HB player for a try to Ta$man
-
The only HB backs this season I would give a pass mark to are Emerson, Lowe and Garland - the kids. I hope at least one of them gets a WTG position this year
-
The only positive I can see from this system is a change in the management/coaching for the Magpies.

yeah, and Emerson is basically a young Shane Williams

I don't even know where to start. My God, that was frustrating. And why did the ref penalise us there at the end? Several strange reffing decisions against us, but no excuses. This lot deserves relegation.
What on earth is wrong with Weber? Seriously!
Geez, I feel like I've swallowed all the angry pills that they should feed the Magpies instead.

You can forget about that! They will not sack Philpott and he has another season to go on his contract.

Missed the game, stupid bar we were at decided that playing AFL on one channel and NRL 1980's highlights was more important than customers asking to watch a sport. Fuckers!
Seems like my season supporting the warriors hasn't finished yet as the magpies have taken over with disappointing me. -
