@Bones So his Maoris have beaten Canada, Japan, US and Fiji which is not that sterling. He was an assistent when the Crusaders won in 2002 otherwise as head coach of the Canes he was runner up once and semi finalist three times. He coached the NZ under 21 to a title in 2001. I suppose this is OK but would not say remarkable. I think his lack of success with the Canes sticks in my memory.
Oh right so success is only measured in trophies? That must suck.

@broughie that was a few years back, again, he seems to be doing alright now, which is likely a stepping stone to the ultimate goal of head coach I expect...and I know plenty on here had misgivigns about Hansen under SGH, look at him now.
Thats just my view though.

He took them to a final and a semi final in his two seasons with them, that's not too bad

@mariner4life Wiki says he coach from 2004 to 2011 which is what came to my mind. This is right right? So he took them to a semi and final in his last years? Rennie comes in, puts his mark on the team, and they win 2 consecutive super titles. Now there is a coach and one I would not mind as a future AB coach and not Foster.

@broughie holy shit dude. Waikato, a team in the NPC, representing the Waikato region, made up of Waikato club players. Coached by Ian Foster reasonably successfully in 02 and 03.
The Chiefs, a team competing in the Super rugby competition, nominally representing (but not really these days) Counties, BOP, Waikato, the Naki (now, but not then), and some smaller unions like the King Country. Coached by Ian Foster from 2004-2011. Not called Waikato by anyone except Phil Kearns, because that is not their name, and hasn't been since the 90s.As for the rest of your point, actually, i don't even know what your point is.
