Was supposed to have a big awards evening at the school where my son was to receive an award but that’s all cancelled now because of Pallachook and Co keeping us all safe. Thanks Anna. I’m sure getting everyone to surge to the supermarkets and then leave Brisbane in record numbers will control the spread.
Anyway, gyms are closed and swimming is off this week and for who knows how long with these dickheads in charge. Got in one last session before lockdown yesterday. This morning reverted back to the lockdown routine of last year with GF and ran to park and back using gym equipment in between. It’s a decent workout. 8km run and pull-ups etc. Guess I’ll be doing that for a while.

I did that exact workout today whilst on holiday in the Coromandel, minus the running bit which the TPFMMN5 did instead. Chins and push ups at the park really are great fun. Throughout the day did about 60 of the former and 150 of the latter ( on knuckles of course )
Old school movements are the best.

Bit of a weird week with the mini lockdown. Made me realise how important swimming is to my week. You just can’t replicate that form of low impact training on land. Which I guess is why swimmers are able to do such insane levels of training.
Kind of overdid the interval training on Tuesday and Wednesday so when lockdown ended on Thursday alI I could really do was just train the parts of the body that didn’t hurt. Today was a good chest and tricep day but was a struggle. Didn’t use preworkout and the difference was pretty massive.
But officially doing the marathon on 4 July. Signed up with the GF. She’s going to do even less training than me but is resolved to going very slow. Quite excited now. There are a “virtual” half marathon and 30km in the months leading up. Plan to do those but otherwise will stick to what I’ve been doing. Will do a run, swim, run tomorrow to fark myself up a bit.

Saturday: So ran to the pool and the farking pool was closed. Ended up doing a run, hills, intervals combo over about 15km. Did the trick but really miss the pool.
Looking to tweak the diet again. Going to add a pasta meal to Sunday nights. Last week was a struggle and I need that extra fuel.

Will try and get the entire week logged for a change.
Monday: Am - very solid legs and abs session.
PM - Usually pool but due to Easter did a 4km fast (for me)run then 2km plus intervals (pull-ups, body weight rows and sit-ups). Did the job.
Tuesday: Shoulders - another decent session. Did front raises for the first time in a while. Felt pretty good.

You’re doing better than me. I still scribble down my workouts in an old diary. I don’t update my thread on here very much if at all.

Old school 👍
I was cleaning my office the other day and found some very old scraps of paper with my workouts copied from bodybuilding.com. Some of those weren’t bad but I was I was naive enough at the time to believe those guys weren’t smashing the roids.

Wednesday: Bootcamp
GF is great at putting these together. 40sec on, 10sec off. 10 different exercises. 4 rounds and 60sec plank and either 500m row, 250m elliptical or 250 step machine (that big steep mofo) in between.Hardest is going between sled and battle ropes. Or sled and anything for that matter. If anything can be said to be much harder than it looks it’s the sled.

Chest and biceps today. Very good.
Due to school holidays have been training every morning with the gf. She likes to walk to and from gym (about 20min each way) which is a good warmup/warmdown. Don’t usually have time when kids have to get to school.Fark the GF hammers it in the gym as well. Does heaps of that Les Mills interval pump whatever training. Those ridiculous harpies who crap on about being strong and independent should take a look at what a real strong and independent woman actually looks like. I’m very lucky.

Good shit, do any other muscles even matter ?

They’re probably also the easiest to train. Chest in particular is easy to hammer, whether through BP, dips or push-ups.

Didn’t think I’d be swimming this week but got a text last night from Hitler asking if I wanted to go this morning. Yes please Herr Hitler.
They say when you have 1 week out of the water it takes 3 weeks to catch up. With me it takes 3 months. Hitler didn’t exactly allow me to ease into it. He gave me a set of options, all of which inflicted pain (different sets of 400m - chose one with 25max at the start of each 100. Then some land work inbetween.
Tough, but went quickly and was glad to get in the water again.

I’m loving all sorts of chest variations at the moment, definitely good to mix things up a bit although ya gotta watch the tendons and shoulders when going heavy.

Saturday: Not the best communication, but swimming also on on Saturday so stoked about that. Was another pretty tough session with a few max efforts.
Followed that up by running for 1h30min. Made about 16.5km. It hurt but that’s all part of it I guess. Found a route that isn’t quite as hilly, but it wasn’t exactly flat. Went to town on the eating after that. Had normal breakfast but then a pack of Mission corn chips with 2 tins of sweet chilli shredded chicken, then 2 chicken schnitzels with rice, then another 3 schnitzels with a pizza. Also had 2 slices of vegemite toast, 2 protein bars, 3 cups of berries, two muesli bars and a bowl of peanuts. I disgust myself.

@rancid-schnitzel What size schnitzel are we talking bout here?
Belgian cafe? Frozen from supermarket? Home made?
5 in a day is quite impressive though. How you got your name has me wondering ...

Frozen from supermarket. About medium sized. Not those huge ones you get from a Munich Brauhaus.
If I had to choose a last meal it would be schnitzel with Bratkartoffeln.

I love me some good schnitzel, breadcrumb, flour and eggs and you can’t go wrong although it is a messy process. It’s not something I have at a restaurant too often cos I just haven’t found much that is really good in my opinion.

They generally do them pretty well over here although I have had some shockers. Doesn’t compare to what you get in Germany though 😋

My boys took me and their stepdad ( “took” being a weird way of saying it as we had to pay haha ) to the Munchen Beer Garden for Father’s Day a couple of years back, bloody good spot with the big long tables and everyone indulging in some schnitzel, Bavarian beer and perving at the bar wenches ( well, only I did that )

Those places are generally great value. A good hearty feed, awesome beer and fine entertainment (he he). I’d love to set up a proper beer garden at my place. That would be cool. What’s interesting with Germany though is that there are very different drinking cultures even from town to town. For instance where my old man comes from (NW Germany) they don’t drink those massive beers you get in Bavaria. They prefer 0.3l. In Cologne they go even smaller with 0.2l and glasses that almost look like test tubes. But then 20 min away you get Dusseldorf where they prefer dark beer. It’s pretty damn cool.
Hmmm, ironic we’re discussing beer and fried food on a fitness forum 😁
