I'd say no-one from the Crusaders' best 23 squad in that team - very few who would even make a second XV. A few names I barely recognize.

Surprising to me that Will Jordan hasn't featured in either this squad or vs the Hurricanes. Is he injured or is Razor keeping him under wraps?

@tim I thought that West would have been a pick for the Canes, he seems tailor made for 10s.

He probably features large in the Canes plans this year, as an impact 10 and someone that can start against the lesser teams. So unwilling to risk him. Which is a bit of a shame as he'd go well with the extra space.

Looking at these squads, you tend to think that Pau have a pretty good shot of winning this - they're a team of stars up against squads with the odd name player.

There are a lot of good club players in crusaders. Ben Morris , Hamish Dalziel Brett Cameron ngane punivai from lincoln uni. Tom Christie , Zach Mckay from Christchurch and Dylan Nel from sumner. Some real talent in there , but untested at this level. Zach Mckay biggest surprise for me. Played colts last year and didn’t really dominate. I would’ve thought Connor garden bachop or Rameka Poihipi would’ve been ahead of him.

Has Losi Filipo got a chaperone if he decides to explore the Brisbane nightlife after the tournament?

Totally agree on Will Jordan. That aside, I think Razor has the right idea about how to manage this tournament, a chance for young and promising squad players to show what they can do.

Australian commentators are awful. High shoulder charge on Clarke goes unmentioned.

If Justin Marshall was commentating I'm sure he woulda busted out a 'boomfa'. Would that have helped?

Blues didnt win a 10s game last season so already a better tournament.

Nanai, Ruru, Clarke and surprisingly Trainor looked really sharp.

Of the real youngsters Sotutu and Telea caught the eye.

And they seem to know about 2 players names from each of the non-Australian sides

Blatant card from the Chiefs for a late tackle.

Pleasants-Tate lucky not to be sent off. Will players be cited from the 10s?

That was a cheapshot. Bombed a try too.

I think that was a try at the end. Seu gets pinged for high tackles too often.

Also Pleasants-Tate wears a nose-ring, so I now 100% support him moving to Otago.
