I thought this was just a nightmare I was having and when I woke it it would not be true!
Not sure how long it will take for me to stop sniggering at the thought of it all.

@dogmeat My memories of the 1960/70s Skoda models. Clearly they must have improved since then.

-
@kiwiwomble yup - if you lift the bonnet of a Skoda almost every part in the engine is badged either VW or Audi.

Q: What do you call a Skoda at the top of a Hill?

A: A mirage.Q: What's the difference between a golfball and a Skoda?
A: A golf ball can be driven 300 yards. There are so many, but they are all from a long time ago, so unfortunately Mr Plod pushing his Skoda is unlikely to happen and entertain me.

@tim corona makes a new product...and even after 2020 they stick with the "corona" name?
Yeah. So how many of the people on the planet do you think are complete idiots and think that is a problem? I'm happy with Corona. It means "Crown".
-
@snowy lots....i think there are lots of complete idiots, I would have guessed there are more idiots than people that would want to buy a seltzer just because it shares the same name as a beer they like
its not exactly unheard of for a brand to move away from negative connotations even i there is no actually connection

I doubt that they will do that.
-
@snowy obviously theyre not and i wasn't even suggesting they do, just surprised when launching a new product that i wouldn't have thought actually leveraged too much on the existing brand thats they just didn't go with something new

Because there is nothing wrong with the existing brand? They can use that for marketing.
