NFL 2018

I thought I might as well start a thread for the 2018 season.
The LA Rams have traded for Patriots receiver Brandin Cooks.
Rams have sent a 1st round pick (23) and a sixth round pick for Cooks and a fourth round pick from the Patriots.
Rams are certainly going all out - though this trade feels a little pricey.
-
@KiwiMurph good work. I'm thinking of getting game pass this year - just have to figure out who to follow. Got into the Eagles under Chip Kelly, but they turned into a dumpster fire before winning the Owl. Enjoyed the Seahawks when they were good- Wilson is an amazing QB. Rams look a dark horse, but you never know ...
-
@nzzp Game Pass is great.
Speaking as a 49ers fan the 49ers - Rams rivalry should be one of the leagues best for the next few years. Same division, both coaches are friends, the youngest head coaches in the league, and offensive wizards. Both teams have their young quarterbacks and are entering their Super Bowl windows. Plus add in the SF vs LA rivalry and it's all on.

so does that mean if I start following the Rams, we can have a feud?
I'm just pissed at the Rams for how the NFL let the owner treat St Louis. Seriously, fark that guy.
-
A high price for a potential one year rental. He's a deep threat player but Goff was quite poor with the deep ball last season, so it makes this move even more risky. If they win a Super Bowl, they won't care though.
The NFC is like the Western Conference in the NBA at the moment.
-
Draft day tomorrow and it's looking like a few teams are trying to bait Buffalo and Arizona into trading up in the draft. The 49ers look like they're aiming for one of the highly touted linebackers.
-
Big question is which QB will the Browns take? It's a toss up between Baker Mayfield, the kid from Wyoming, and the kid from USC. The one kid who the media say will slide is Josh Rosen from UCLA. He might end up being the Aaron Rogers of the draft, passed over by numerous regretful teams years later
-
@canefan Boy, if the Browns take Mayfield the Giants will get a ton of calls as teams try and get Sam Darnold. The NY Jets will go with Rosen and Denver would probably take Josh Allen at five (I don't think the Browns will be that dumb to take Mayfield and trade their fourth overall pick)

For those QBs they have a 50 50 chance of joining a good organization for the foreseeable future

I find it hard to believe Mayfield is in serious consideration for the number 1 pick. He's short, not a great athlete, from a gimmick offense and has some off field red flags. Yes its the Browns but they actually now have a big name front office now. Last year on draft day the buzz was Trubisky was going 1. That didnt happen.

Well shut my mouth. Baker goes 1. Lololol Browns gonna Brown.
-
@kiwimurph WOW.
-
The Browns should've taken Chubb with that 4th pick. They would've had one of, if not the best pass rush for a long time if they had him and Garrett on the edge.
-
This draft isn't playing out how I thought it would.
-
Miller and Chubb at the Broncos together. QB nightmare.
-
Colts get OG Nelson. QBs Rosen and Allen still available.

The next 4 teams don't need a QB, so maybe someone trades up to secure one soon.
-
Bills are trading to 7
-
I'd be surprised if the Bills didn't select Rosen. Allen has too many red flags.
-
Bills take Josh Allen. Arizona must be trying to trade up to get Rosen.
-
Geez - they didn't like Tyrod Taylor because he had accuracy problems and couldn't read defenses well, then they take Allen, who basically couldn't do that at college level.
-
Looks like LB Tremaine Edmunds is going to fall to the 49ers (unless they trade their pick to Arizona)

Do you guys need an edge rusher? With Foster cleared, it might be worth going for Harold Landry, because the pass rusher depth in this draft is not great.
-
@dice OL Mike Mcglinchey is selected by the 49ers. Commentators are saying its a smart pick.
Arizona have traded with Oakland to get Rosen. Miami misses out.
-
@sneakdefreak not the sexiest pick, but it's a need. There are some really good defensive players that they passed on though.
-
@dice I would have gone with Minkah Fitzpatrick.
-
I wonder if Lamar Jackson will fall to the Patriots. A lot of people have him going to them, because the Pats worked him out twice, which is not normal.
-
Tongan boy, Vita Vea, going to the Bucs. I'm shocked by that one, I thought they would've taken Derwin James to help their poor secondary.
-
ha, I love seeing Mike Mayock be wrong. He was so certain the Saints were taking Lamar Jackson.
-
Ravens will be stoked if WR Ridley falls to them. A team with no WRs to start the offseason will have a pretty good core in Ridley, Crabtree, Snead and Brown.

No, Ravens have made a trade with Buffalo....
-
The Bills take Tremaine Edmunds. A lot of people had him going in the top 10. Freakish talent who is only 19.
I'm surprised Derwin James is still available.
-
James finally off the board. Really good value pick for the Chargers.
-
The Cowboys take Leighton Vander Esh. He was my draft crush.
Still no WRs taken off the board.
-
-
Finally a WR is taken. DJ Moore to the Panthers.
Ravens are up next. Ridley is right there for the taking.
-
Ravens take TE, Hayden Hurst, instead.
Falcons take Calvin Ridley instead. That's a really good spot for him. Julio will take the double teams and Ridley will be singled up.

Isn't there rumours that Julio wants out of Atlanta? Maybe bringing another Alabama guy in will ease that. Or Ridley is his replacement.
-
@sneakdefreak Yeah there is. He deleted all the Atlanta Falcon pics on his instagram and it had everyone go crazy.
He made a comment a couple of weeks ago about not letting social media make you, so that might be the main reason why he deleted all the pics, but who knows. I don't think Julio is the type to cause any trouble, so I'm leaning towards it meaning nothing at all.
-
Wow. This is the biggest reach of the draft by the Steelers. Terrell Edmunds was projected as a mid round pick at best.
