Watched a bit of the Spurs game today - they look a shadow of last year's team. They just play slow, possession football quite badly as far as I can see. Their strength was the speed they played at making it hard for opposition teams to match them especially with the movement they had. I could hardly watch what I saw this morning, it was so dull.

“Stop what you’re doing!” cries a supervisor, halting the work of a gang of electricians on Tottenham Hotspur’s new £850m stadium.
The sudden stop is due to the appearance of workers from an air-conditioning subcontractor, who are carrying a large piece of metallic piping. These AC workers have turned up to finish their installation. The problem is, the electricians were told the AC work had already been completed.
As a result, all the work the electricians had done has to be torn out. This is made all the more frustrating by the fact that completed electrics, carried out on the exact same spot, had already been completely ripped out two weeks earlier for the same reason.

That's what happens when Daniel Levy tries to do it on the cheap and fails to appoint a project manager. Typical pound foolish behaviour by our illustrious leader. The new place looks pretty cool though

Spurs were in the Xmas spirit by gifting Barca 2 goals.

Not a good night for the English teams.

As usual in the UCL, the groups are a little unbalanced. Both Liverpool and Spurs are in groups with 3 strong teams - Liverpool should be OK based on their home fortress but Spurs are going to have to both that Barca don't gift points to Inter.

Seems like we have a real title race.

Chelsea, City and Liverpool all tied on points. Arsenal just behind and ever-improving.

I think City and Chelsea look the most likely to go on with it and fight it out until May. For all Liverpool's spend and improvement, it still doesn't feel like a title is there for the taking.

Who knows what the fuck is going on at Man U.

@mariner4life a real pleasant surprise to see us win 9 in a row in all comps. Some tidy football thrown in similar to the early Wenger days.

In saying that we usually look ok, this side of Christmas

@hooroo Ramsey's goal was one for the highlight reels. He'd only been on the field for 38 secs.

@mariner4life I still think Spurs will finish higher than Arsenal once they get their mojo (players) back.

Strangely enough Liverpool aren't reaching the heights of last season but similarly they aren't plumbing the depths either and that is what will keep them in the race. They really need sides to come onto them to given them the space for the fantastic 3 to flourish - but teams are getting wise to them this season and keeping them quiet. Not sure City will run away with it but they still look the most likely to not slip up against the weaker teams especially once Kevin de B is back.

Of the teams to battle Man U for 6th (!), Wolves look really good.

@mariner4life Equal worst start to a season having spent 100 million quid over the summer...

Not that 100 Mill is a lot of money nowadays

Injuries - different formation, tactics, and line-ups for every game. The club record unbeaten run seems a loooong time ago.

Fortunate that Huddersfield and Cardiff are in this years PL

We have had a pretty tough run of fixtures. After next 3 Cardiff, Bournemouth, Huddersfield will hopefully not have a sore neck from looking up the table.

Could get ugly though if we don't sort out our defence. Still think squad is too good to struggle all season. But last time we went down the average pre season prediction was we would finish 9th.

@kiwipie Spurs won't have the CL distraction to worry about for much longer. 🙂

Then it's Thu night games in some European city...

@kiwipie 5 clean sheets in 8 games is a good way to stay at the top. And a mile from last year! That first 8 games includes Chelsea, Spurs and City as well.

@mariner4life Exactly - seems they are being talked down due to not banging in 4 or 5 every game but they are still unbeaten and their depth is much better.

@dogmeat Fulham remind me of Bournemouth in their first season, predictions of doom as they were given some hidings but with enough attacking talent to beat the weaker teams. Fulham have plenty going forward which should given them enough wins to stay up.

United lose another (at home to Juve) The chosen one is on fairly shaky ground, I imagine.
