The Ultimate one hit wonders thread........

@MiketheSnow I feel like you've been in a thread of your own on obscure British songs from the 70s that most of us have never heard of before now.
@Rancid-Schnitzel The girl in that video looked familiar so I went to google and she's the singer from Republica (a 90s band I only remembered when reading the Wiki page).

No recognition for Ghost in my house or Gotta See Jane?

Surely this is the ultimate? A world-wide hit, No1 in the US and UK for weeks on end, then nothing.

A late contributor but getting with it now...

A couple of winners from @Catogrande there. Definitely never heard of anything else from the Archie’s or Ram Jam.

[Pedant] The Archies weren't a real group and Ram Jam have already made an appearance in the thread. [End/Pedant]

As I wrote, a few slipped through the cracks from not sticking to the original criteria.

I didn’t think so about The Archie’s either, so googled before posting, they are credited with the song, and a group of people that play a song would qualify as a band / group wouldn’t they? So who did it if not them?
Missed the Ram Jam one earlier but certainly don’t know any other songs by them. I have by a lot of the other bands mentioned.

Whole load of shit songs which hit the Top 10 in the UK, which by virtue of the number of records being bought at the time made the performers household names and the songs 'memorable'.
Already posted Joe Dolce
Here's Brian and Michael

@MiketheSnow Never heard that before and after 22 seconds I’m pleased that I hadn’t. Was that really a hit?
Maybe the criteria should be more global than regional. Some interesting crap as well as some gold in here though.
I know “tainted love” by Soft cell was mentioned earlier but that was a remake, so does that count? They made a hit but didn’t write it.
