And that's the final score. The BF7s have lost to France before; they're always a tough opponent. But what a game!

The BF7s will meet Fiji in the Cup QF tomorrow at 7.28pm.

    Half time: NZ 14 - 7 Samoa

Great, entertaining game. Both sides playing well. Knewstubb standing out in the first half.

Geez these commentators are awful. Everyone in the Samoa team is Alosio (unless it's Perez). Molia is Solia. And as for "just like toothpaste, always shines" - YUCK.

That was awesome from Knewstubb, bossing this game after seeming a bit off in the first game. Samoan tries to run straight at him and Knewstubb strips it immediately and saunters the 10m to the tryline.

I expected a closer contest, but it looks like Samoa was only competitive for one half.

Full time: New Zealand 40 - 7 Samoa

The AB7s finish first in their pool. They'll play the second ranked team in pool B (Australia or USA) in the Cup QF at 8.36pm tomorrow.

More shit commentating. Keep going on about how much Fiji need to win by and that they really need to get scoring to get there. Surely they need to win first you morons? They're trailing France at half time.

Fiji knocked out of the cup. Argentina and France go through.

The Fijians were on the wrong end of a lopsided penalty count aganst the Argies who managed to score a try in injury time of the second half to win as Fiji had a player in the bin (the second carding against them!)

Having said that what is happeneing in the bowl division with what looks like the bottom eight teams having just the one match on the final day. Seems starnge to spread the tournament out by a day but chop the best part of half a dozen games from the bowl not to mention straight knock out in the cup division with the losers of the quarter finals heading to the aftermatch function with no more games.

Presumably this reduction must be because of the inclusion of a womans division? Surely they can use two fields to ensure the continuation of the programme what we have become accustomed to over the years.

@Higgins The Dubai 7s already had both a men's and women's tournament, so shortening the tournament by no longer playing certain games is not due to including a women's tournament. The Dubai 7s were always played on 3 days (it's just structured differently by starting both the men's and women's tournament on the same day and playing the men's and women's finals on the same day).

We saw the same (playing fewer games) in the women's only tournament in Glendale in October. I'm still wondering how they are awarding points to the teams that going out in the knock-out games at the same time and no longer play each other. In Glendale, they didn't get the same number of points, so I assume it has to do with competition points and points differential after the pool stage, but I've actually never seen it explained or reasons given.

Awesome try from Waaka! Nothing wrong with the BFs attack; defence is a problem at times.
