@Steven-Harris They are excellent floodlights but with the corwd present tonight even at Porirua it would look sparse. Probably be able to accomodate this number of spectators at some place like Lyndhurst Park (Tawa) or Helston Park (Johnsonville) to make the crowd like sizeable. Obviously not a lot of attraction for the fans to turn up to watch two teams that have not won a game between them all season!

Why Wellington play in the cake tin I have no idea. It's way too big. A bit like Eden Park is too

This actually looks like a game between the two bottom of the table teams.

I'd have preferred the Hutt Rec Ground for this game.

Finally, McKay scores. The best player on the field thus far. Already had a few chances earlier.

McKay looks a lot better at fullback than on the wing.

You won't be seeing any highlights for his lineout throwing.

    JGB's passing has been shite.

This is more what I remember of Mitre10 rugby at this level; poor skills and not great to watch.

So many teams hav ebeen good; it's disappointing to see this

I forgot Aso was even on the field. Most of the Wellington backs have barely seen the ball in this half.

How long do you have to keep up a player before O'Keefe calls it a maul? Ages, apparently.

I think Wellington would benefit greatly by subbing Renata off, bringing T Umaga Jensen on and moving Proctor to Fullback. Renata is just so sluggish now.

Plus are the commentators legally allowed to call the Cake Tin - Sky stadium just yet?

Rather than the level of rugby going down generally, I think there's more been a shift to other teams. Canterbury is suffering from its own success (losing a lot of players to the ABs in recent years); Wellington has always gone up and down over the years (they're clearly worse this year). But other teams have become better the last few years and play exciting rugby. Tasman being the best example, but also Auckland. Same in the Championship division.

Great to see some great pop kicks in behind the defence, not always a percentage play but they are great at keeping defences guessing

The most embarrassing thing to hear about your team when playing Wellington:

"won against the throw by James Blackwell"

I've been really pleased with Hauiti Parapara. Wellington really going well now. Aumua, Fidow and Numia really dominant in their ball carrying. Good signs for the Canes bench next year.

@Stargazer Laban fanboys everyone. It's highly annoying listening to, especially when he needs to mention every school, every single player played for.
