Possibly superfluous Japan team named: William Tupou, Kotaro Matsushima, Timothy Lafaele, Ryoto Nakamura, Kenki Fukuoka, Yu Tamura, Yutaka Nagare, Kazuki Himeno, Pieter Labuschagne, Michael Leitch (captain), James Moore, Luke Thompson, Jiwon Koo, Shota Horie, Keita Inagaki.

Reserves: Atsushi Sakate, Isileli Nakajima, Asaeli Ai Valu, Uwe Helu, Hendrik Tui, Fumiaki Tanaka, Rikiya Matsuda, Ryohei Yamanaka.

But this top quality whining just makes me think a bit of karma for this lot putting the kybosh on the World League

Tupou back at fullback. He will be bombarded with high kicks.

Have to agree. The absurd lengths these halfwits will go to to develop a harebrained conspiracy theory. They construct an alternate universe utilising hypotheticals to show how poorly they've been treated. Knowing full well the only possible response is to say "STFU you whining spastic".

Maitland won't be missed. He's been well off his game.

    From a mate

'I don't get why the Scottish RFU would waste time / money on a legal challenge to the RWC organisers.

The rules were clear before the tournament began, both teams have played the same opponents so far, so Japan quite rightly would deserve their place in the next round should their game get called off.

    It's all a bit bizarre!'

That's where I am with all of this. I suppose that one can always argue whether they were the right rules, but such as they are, they have been followed to the letter. To suggest that somehow undermines the integrity of the tournament seems nonsense to me

Scottish coach a few days ago when it was thought a possibility that Ireland Samoa would be canned:

“My first thought was that it was called Typhoon Haggis, obviously it’s not," he said. (Ho ho ho)

“The Ireland game cannot be postponed, it has to be played that day,” he said. “If it cannot be played that day then it’s two points for each team.”

Scottish coach yesterday when it was thought a possibility that Japan Scotland would be canned:

“Scottish Rugby fully expects contingency plans to be put in place to enable Scotland to contest for a place in the quarter-finals on the pitch, and will be flexible to accommodate this”.

Most acrimonious build-up to a Rugby game I can remember for a long time. Scottish team management are behaving like prize fluffybunnies.

    Go Japan!

Scots rugby union head have a cnut of himself sulking like a spoilt child . You bet your arse they'd do something different if it was the abs, people actually want to watch them play.

That is true, but he does realise that our match was cancelled right? Denying us a chance to get some players into a proper RWC "match" (I use that word in the broadest of terms).

Really weird how how these bellends can turn everything into a comparison with the ABs (which they will lose). Aura I guess.
