The only person I know of that is really sick and hospitalised has significant cardiovascular and respiratory comorbidities despite not being that old. Everyone else has had cold or flu

@canefan one of the women at work's daughter has been hospitilised. Difficulty breathing, ulcerated throat, really bad throat, not getting enough oxygen. In her teens. No known health issues.

@canefan I dont think there is any Delta in NZ is there?
As I think about 50% is the new Moronic mutation while the rest the original Moronic.
I don't think they know. The prevailing one is Omicron obviously.
Meanwhile, Luxon is allowing Ardern to cast herself as a control freak
βThere will be other waves of Omicron, we have to make sure that we have the system in place that allows life to be as normal as possible for business, for tourists, for visitors, for those wanting to enjoy hospitality while still putting in place the protections we need so that our health system isn't overwhelmed."
This makes no sense to those in the tourism, hospitality, and event sectors

This is interesting. I didn't think this would ever happen but think its a step in the right direction

If the government tried to go back to lockdowns I reckon there would be widespread disobedience. The early lockdowns saved people and bought time until the vaccine was available. But people will look at the claims of deaths in the thousands, and decide that the modellers and others cried wolf. I don't even think, with the widespread availability of RAT tests, that household isolation makes sense now. I know of many households who had covid19 come in and not everyone got it (mine included). All asymptomatic household contacts should be able to take a daily RAT test and go on their way
