Beep Test Update. Well, I beat them. But the margins were a little too close for comfort. The lads were pretty average, but my girl is getting pretty fucking good, and she's seriously competitive - little tart had the gall to be genuinely annoyed afterwards that she didn't beat me.
Apparently we are now going to do it every Sunday.
I'm gonna need to fake an injury soon.

Two rides today both about 10km
First was a family cruise about the local. Nothing strenuous other than having to remind the wife re how to use bike gears.
Second ride was down to the hill at south end of beach and a couple of repeats on the hill climb which is about a 4min slog and 80 or so m of elevation to gain. Gave a good effort on first attempt and got some farken time as yesterday (PB). Was going good on the downhill until I lost it on one of the corners near the bottom and had to start again from a stop. Again same time as my PB. 2nd climb was slower but I did it
-
Once I could get out the door I went for another run. Slightly further and slightly faster than last time. But not by much which is disappointing.

@antipodean thought your issue was getting in?
Anyway, after feeling a bit lethargic the past few days, got a bit of a energy back today doing a circuit with TR Jnr, got the HR right up there.

Exactly - if I left I couldn't get back in.
Just caught Ben Alexander showing off his PBs.
5k: 18:46
10k: 43:35Not bad for an ex-prop.
-
@antipodean only if he still looks like an ex-prop

Those are really sharp times!!!

@taniwharugby The problem is props get thinner and backs get fatter. Retirement is some sort of alternate universe for modern professionals.

Cut my damn foot at the weekend. No walking yesterday or today, and no rowing for a bit. Really gutted at this, I'm hanging out to smash some km on the rower after the days at work.
Also, regrettably the quality of food hasn't dropped. Kids have started cooking unassisted - it's great for having fresh baking just show up (for everything but being a porker)

You could kinda row 1-footed...wouldn't be your sharpest times, but you'd still get a lower back and arm work out (plus one quad...)?

It's not a bad cut, just giving it time to knit and heal. Will try some gentle rows tomorrow I hope.

I thought the run was as far away as he could get from the door before having to turn back and catch it? This time he got 2.7m.
