Who else would have had good squads

    Rotoruabhs
    Welling coll
    St kents?
    Mags
    obhs 2xv (behind team McCaw)
    Nelson college
    Palmy boys
    Te sure?
    Kings

Based on the number of ABs, the other schools would include Sacred Heart, Christs, NPBHS and Southland BHS. Feilding has produced a lot of recent/current ABs.

And surprisingly, Timaru BH has 18 ABs.

Wesley College would have as good a backline as any school.

Francis Douglas would have at least half a decent team with Conrad Smith, all of the Barretts and Coltman

    @Stargazer

I’d have Karne Hesketh on the wing for Napier as a RWC try scorer for Japan against South Africa

And If they are playing in their high school positions, put Colin Bourke at fullback

@Stockcar86 Excellent. Hesketh gets the 14 jersey; I've moved Sullivan to the bench. I've left Bourke where he is (6). Still need another lock ...

Rongotai College would have a strong team

    1. Brian McGrattan (All Blacks)
    2. Moti Matu'u (Samoa) + Manu Leiataua (Samoa)
    3. Whetu Henry (Wellington)
    4. Mark Reddish (Hurricanes and Highlanders)
    5. Ron Horsley (All Blacks)
    6. Joseph Tapine (NZ League)
    7. Graham Williams (All Blacks)
    8. Ardie Savea (All Blacks):
    9. Junior Tonu'u (Samoa and All Blacks)
    10. Matui Samuel:
    11. Julian Savea (All Blacks)
    12. Ma'a Nonu (All Blacks)
    13. Paula Kinikinilau (Romania) + Paulo Aukuso (Biarritz)
    14. Roy Kinikinilau (Hurricanes, Highlanders, Chiefs + NZ 7s)
    15. Mick Williment (All Blacks) + Clive Currie (All Blacks)

Nice one. CC really lack any illustrious or notable ABs: it's only Moody and Hobbs really.

Mind you, one Charles Upham went to CC, so you really don't need much aside from him.

@Canes4life That's in the fine print of their article - he didn't play first XV at Nelson College.

But also Sak Taulafo has more than 40 test caps for Samoa, so probably warrants selection regardless.

All time Nelson College team incorporating old school ABs would have some more changes - they've only considered people who played in the pro era.

If anyone has a bit of time here's a look inside school rugby, following St Pats Silverstream. Featuring players like Rocco Berry (Warriors), Josh Southall, Iona Apineru (NZ Schools)

@taniwharugby You might want to have ex ‘canes Mike Russell ahead of Speight.

I watched both play for Waikato and I never saw Russell run down a NZ sprint champion, as Speight did. 🙂

Maybe Speight's AB status gives him the nod over Russell?

    MAGS:

    15 Matthew Ridge
    14 Paul Williams/Caleb Clarke
    13 Joe Stanley/Jack Goodhue
    12 Sonny Bill Williams
    11 Bryan Williams
    10 Mick Bremner
    9 Pele Cowley
    8 Steven Luatua
    7 Mark Brooke-Cowden/Isaiah Papali'i
    6 Andrew Blowers
    5 Josh Goodhue
    4 Michael Fatialofa
    3 Olo Brown
    2 Ron Urlich
    1 Alex Hodgman

    Might've missed some better options.

@Dice No Mark Brooke-Cowden? The only others who could make a case that I can think of are Alex Hodgman and David Smith.

@African-Monkey Brooke-Cowden definitely deserves to be in there. I'd bracket him with Papali'i because Papali'i had one of the best seasons I've ever seen by an openside at school level.

Forgot about Hodgman. I might give him the edge over Lindenmuth.

I thought about David Smith, but left him off because the other options looked good enough. He was really dominate at 1st XV level though.

    @shark OK. Its up now.

    CC forwards:

    8
    7 J Hobbs
    6
    5 S Maling
