    Kelleher the only Otago player better than their opposite .

    Mils vs Smith is a pretty close call.

    Smith, Kronfeld, hayman and Hoeft arent too far off their opposition though

    Lifting will be a new experience for the Auckland locks. Diving, not so much...

    This is getting really difficult. All players in their prime - Akl - just. I reckon we are ahead in about 7 or 8 positions but they are very debatable.

    in a combined 15 i think i take from Otago
    Hoeft
    Maling (lineouts)
    Kelleher

    A few others are close.

    But that Auckland team is fucking stacked. 4 of the pack make my all-time AB XV (and 3 make my all time anywhere XV)
    Probably 4 others would make the B team.

    @mariner4life Yeah. The 50 / 50 s I left out. Ended up a bit like you I suspect

    It was like 6 or 7, to 3 or 4.

    Auckland by daylight - even with all the Hawkes Bay boys in the Otago team.

    That Auckland tight 5 will win the tight battle, the loosies make the gap wider, then the backs have some fun.

    Ben Smith > Mils.

    I reckon Ben Smith was robbed not to be a World Player of the Year. He had a couple of seasons where he just didn't make a mistake.
