And dinner in an Arabian restaurant.....with no beer or wine on the menu.
FFS.
It's what Allah would have wanted.

Think we had those - food was great. Ended up drinking some cucumber-tasting concoction which was delicious.

It's like a tartare type thing, lamb, onions, spices, etc not cooked in the oven, just in the fridge. Goes great with tabouli. There's also a cooked version, like a meatloaf. Often if they have it in restaurants it's served as like a kofte

I guess that person doesn't celebrate any other festivals/ holidays that stem from celtic traditions.
To be fair I used to think somewhat like that, but now IDGAF if kids are enjoying themselves.

Halloween was pretty big in the provinces in the 80s when I was a kid so I've always made sure I've been stocked up as an adult - but the amount of trick or treaters dwindled over the years.
Odd than an Aussie is complaining about the US, Oz is more of a little wanna be US than most countries.

Previous village I lived in, 3-4 adults dressed up as vampires, witches and zombies and joined in the fun. Made sure the kids knew it was happening - the dressed-up adults wandered around the churchyard and played spooky music/effects.
Was really great and brought people together.

We ran out of treats two years ago. I was astonished at how popular it was in my area.

There is an etiquette for Halloween in the US (lights on), which doesn't work in the SH because of the season
Street near me have little flags they put on their letterbox if they want to participate. Some places really go all out. A guy from weta workshop always has an awesome front yard
