it'll be interesting to see what the thinking is now. Spurs have pick #1, 32 and 44 this year

Next year 3 first rounds and 2 seconds rounds

Year after 3 first round and 3 second round.

    That's a lot of capital

we didn't tank, we just sucked (after offloading everyone half decent for picks)

    totally different

Meanwhile the 41st pick in his draft Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world.

Not much defence in this game.

Both teams over 100 with 10 minutes to play

Spurs get the number 1 pick and will draft the generational 7 foot 3 Frenchman Wemby.

    Pop must be revitalised now.

When I saw them on the board I had a feeling they would get him. They have had a lot of luck on draft nights over the last 20 odd years

I'm pleased that Wemby will go to the Spurs - the Mavs would be better, but at least he's in Texas. It's a solid organization with good coaching, so they should take care of him well too.

    Nuggets get the win.

I agree, as a young player the Spurs are a perfect landing spot for him

Everything I love and hate about the current NBA on display in this game.

Joker and AD two highly skilled big guys, Jamal hitting some tough Kobe-esque fadeaways, some pakeha kid that looks 14yo doing his thing on the big stage.

But then no aggressive perimeter D, the centre matching up on the opposition 2 guard on purpose because said opposition 2 guard just stands at the 3pt corner, Lebron shooting 3s when down 3.

@ACT-Crusader I thought taking AD off Jokic was masterful in the 4th - watching him roam and protect the rim was awesome. Jokic was a fucking beast in the first 3 quarters but looked gassed at the end - 42mins vs season ave of 33.7 was telling. Denver were hot, but their bench is poor - will be a long series for these boys.

@voodoo they need more from Uncle Jeff and Gordon. That will take some of the pressure off Joker and his minutes.

They had some success during the season and the earlier rounds when they went with Gordon at centre with a combo of Green, Brown, Jamal and KCP/Braun.

Malone has no faith in Bryant. Shame because I think he’s not a bad player. There is an attitude/buy in problem apparently.

Impressive win for the Heat in Game 1.

Spoelstra and Butler are a great head coach-star combination.

Joe Mazzulla might be in trouble as a rookie coach in this series.

@KiwiMurph it was as an impressive 3rd quarter as you will see.

Contributions across the board. K Love in good form and a calming influence. Lowry playing better. Their 3 ball was on fire. Jimmy is such a dominant player in the paint whether he’s getting his or finding shooters.

Celtics will be shocked with losing at home but may take some heart with the fact it took the Heat shooting 52% from 3 (and making 16) to beat them.

I wonder if the NBA will do anything about flopping in the offseason? It's now reached soccer levels of diving.
