Also, I think it was mentioned yesterday, Emma Jensen is still playing for Hawke's Bay and she's now on 130 first class games. 43 years old!

    43 Black Ferns & 87 provincial.

According to NZ Rugby History, Fa'amausili played 125 first class games (54 Black Ferns & 71 provincial games).

Anna Richards played 18 games for the Black Ferns and 23 provincial games (3 different provinces).

And she went to 4 WCs.

Wellington is ahead on the scoreboard against Canterbury! Upset coming?

Jorja Miller has just come on for her FPC debut!

Wiki and stats.allblacks.com says 54 games and 49 tests.

Palmer played 35 tests which was second only to Richards when she retired.

@nepia Yeah, usually NZ Rugby History stats are really good, but I just noticed they start in 2005 for quite a few female players, so they seem to be missing several years?

@Nepia These stats are also wrong. Jensen played 50 matches for the BF (49 tests). NZ Rugby History only has provincial games for Auckland and Hawke's Bay, but not Waikato. All blacks stats web page mentions Auckland and Waikato, but not Hawke's Bay.

Conclusion: no idea what the reliable stats are for provincial games. I guess we can trust the allblacks website for Black Ferns stats.

That was a very close game. Wellington almost snatched the JJ Stewart Trophy (the - ugly - women's Ranfurly Shield) from Canterbury, but ill-discipline cost them. Both locks in the bin at the end of the game when leading 22 - 18, and Canterbury crash over after a line-out maul.

    Full time: Canterbury 23 - 22 Wellington.

@stargazer Is there promotion/relegation now they are back to the two divisions?
Otago were last to step up then lost half their players. Looks like they are now in the wrong division. They have competed OK at times but have been 'out-sized' especially when up against the 'big city' teams.

@crucial Yes, if they keep the Premiership/Championship format after this year, there will be promotion/relegation again. Last year, was just a big mistake with their North/South pools.

It's always hard - in both FPC and NPC - for newly promoted teams to stay up in the Premiership, but yeah, Otago lost a lot of players. But just like Manawatu (who got relegated), they also gain players from other provinces because of their university.
Both Counties and Otago had a player in their squad, who played for us, last year. North Harbour, too. And these were among our better players. 😒

Not injury, suspension or family reasons prevent a player from playing for Wellington Pride, but selection in the White Ferns!

Had to Google wtf the White ferns are. Jesus there is no imagination in the lame names of NZ teams. Really I'm not a fan of any name unless it comes organically, all blacks for example

A shame Kathleen Brown is out for the Tui - she had a standout game at number eight last week against North Harbour until she got injured.

@number-10 Yep, she's a big loss, especially for this game. The Tui are going to be crushed tonight. Manawatu are the hot favourites for promotion (back up) to the Premiership.

Only one reaction to that game possible: "flush the dunny".
Manawatū Cyclones don't belong in the Championship and that's showing.
I predict a Manawatū - Northland Championship Final, with Manawatū taking the silverware.
