I always like Holwell. A humble hard working guy, wasn't world class but did all the basics well and had a hell of a kick n chase

    C. Cullen
    D. Coles
    C. Smith

    Cullen
    Umaga
    Collins
    Weepu

That's just who springs to my mind when I think of the Canes
You would probably replace Weepu with TJ, but he is my initial thought.

Losing our first match makes it pretty vital we win this one... so silly starting plodder Prinsep & there's 3 or 4 on the bench that should be in the 15, also a bit risky starting Julian Savea in the midfield.
Be interesting to see how Tuivasa-Sheck goes... Blues have gained a very good power lock in Romano.

That's where you put the stuff about the match, not on this general canes thread. It's a match discussion thread, this isn't

Surely it's now obvious Iose, Flanders, Love & PUJ should be starting to our coaches?

Hopefully IWL, Scrafton & Bird are back soon. I'd love a IWL & Sangster second row.

The back row must be Flanders, Savea & Iose. Gibson on the bench.

Love, PUJ & Sullivan looked amazing together. Stick with them.

Goosen, Rayasi and Barrett back three.

Oh right - well to be honest Bird is probably the weakest between the 3 out, so it could be worse. Is there a time line on IWL & Scrafton?

I haven't heard how long for Scrafton so maybe not long.
IWL I read somewhere his injury will take a while to mend.

this from a Hurricanes press release "Lock Isaia Walker-Leawere is also in doubt for most of the season after suffering a shoulder injury".

The Hurricanes are already dealing with a major injury blow well before next year's Super Rugby season is even underway

    22 November 2021
Veteran prop Owen Franks tore his achilles while completing running training three weeks ago.

Coach Jason Holland says he'll be out for most of the season, but at least they have time to look at contingencies.

Lock Isaia Walker-Leawere is also in doubt for most of the season after suffering a shoulder injury.

Scrafton is due back next week I believe.

@foobanz Yeah he’s gone mate not that he really made much of an impact in the NPC.

I saw Parsons training with them also during Pre-Season

@canes4life Dare we hope the miracle of a Sangster Scrafton locking combo?
I wouldn’t mind seeing Tosi given a game he could add some impact with tiring players.

@mikey07 after last nights performance there is plenty of food for thought in terms of selections for next week, I’d start with:

    1. Rakete-Stones
    2. Aumua
    3. Lomax
    4. Scrafton
    5. Sangster
    6. Flanders
    7. Savea
    8. Iose
    9. Booth
    10. Love
    11. Rayasi
    12. Umaga-Jensen
    13. Sullivan
    14. Goosen
    15. Barrett

Pasilio Tosi showed how much of a beast he was in the NPC, if he could have a similar impact like Loni Uhila did back in 2016 then that would be a bonus.
