@kiwiinmelb on the bright side as my mate said to me; the tigers can still mathematically make the eight from here.

Our midfield is cooked mate , those 4 years of playing dominant high octane football has taken its toll I believe. They recruited young mids along the way but they aren’t to the same level.

    The honeymoon is over .

But the 3 cups safely locked away makes it all worthwhile

There isn't a club in the league that wouldn't trade positions with you

Dees beat the Suns as expected at Metricon but GC had their moments especially to get out to 15-0 to start and then after conceding four on the bounce to come back again a short time later. I only got to HT but looking at the box score we were pretty comfortable at 3/4 time and then went 0-5 in the final term so it could well have been a blow out on another day.

In the Adelaide vs Collingwood game, the 0-0 result I'd hoped for didn't eventuate and someone won.

Then Essendon challenged Brisbane but were ultimate outclassed, while Hawthorn absolutely fucking embarrassed Port. Ha ha Port.

The wowsers are out in force now about how dangerous Friday night was

Think of what could have happened!!! Okay nothing did, but it could have!!

Geelong players were "deliberately run in to" fuck off you pampered stains. This used to be commonplace

Yeah amazing he just sort of let it take its course, didn't lose his shit just lapped it up

Last time I saw it was when that bloke kicked a hundred in a season. Who was that again?

I was at my first ever live AFL game in 1987 at Moorabbin, been in Oz for a couple of weeks. Tony Lockett kicked a hundred in a season 5 or 6 times I think.

Would take a guess at last person and say Lloyd from the Bombers

Can anyone imagine something similar in another sport?

Not on that scale but there are a few Division 1 college basketball teams that when they win at home the crowd runs on the floor and the players stay on soak it up. It’s pretty cool.

I was at two of Plugger’s hundred games, at one of Ablett’s and one of Dunstall’s. Ran on the field in all of them. Bear in mind, those were the days where you could run on the ground after the match, try and tap your favourite player on the shoulder and then kick the footy on the ground for the next hour.

Congrats to Buddy. What an athlete and an amazing effort to get such a milestone to join the upper echelon of goal kickers - Plugger, Coventry, Dunstall, Ablett, Wade. I don’t think anyone else will get to 1000 again.

Martin Croew got swamped at Eden Park in 1992 when he scored a hundred vs Australia in the CWC opener.

    R2 Kneejerk Reactions

Melbourne v Carlton GF locked in.
Collingwood don't suck? Does this mean Bucks is just a shit coach?
This week's cooked = Western Bulldogs
Also = Port (holy shit the fanbase will be out for Hinkley's blood)
Now No Longer Cooked = Richmond
North are terrible. So are the Crows. Freo are worse than i thought, but have a couple of excuses.
Sam Mitchell was a hell of a player. May also be able to coach.

something else may have happened in that game to take most of the focus

The Swans look excellent at the moment. Youth and heaps of run. I hope they can keep it up all year.

I saw bits of it yesterday and North were certainly lucky to have struck WC missing about a thousand guys but still struggled to put them away. That forward that kicked six will be examining his contract closely.

Interesting start for the Dogs. They might have been expected to start 1-1 but not 0-2, and now they have a red-hot Sydney and potentially resurgent Richmond before the guaranteed W vs the Roos in R5. It's still early days and they could yet be 3-2 after R5, but they could also easily be 1-4.

Most of the media platitudes after R1 went to the Cats but they've come back to Earth with a thump.
