And their maul, but man the players joining that did si totally illegally
-
What I'm really enjoying, is the players aren't whinging at the ref all the time
-
Great try to Krystal Murray. Well-deserved.
-
HT: Blues 7 - 3 Matatū
-
Just noticing again that this ref is not officiating both teams equally. Matatu absolutely dominating a scrum and ref lets play on, Blues player picks up the ball and scores. In first half the same happens, Blues dominate scrum and ref blows whistle when the Matatū player picked up the ball.
Inconsistent. Matatū should have been rewarded for that dominant scrum. Instead the Blues get 7 points.
-
@stargazer I think that she's just letting a lot of stuff go maybe missing a fair bit
-
@machpants Yeah, you're right. But when inconsistent officiating leads to one team benefiting and not the more deserving team (at that particular point in the game), I'm getting grumpy.
-
FT: Blues 21 - 10 Matatū
Deserved win, undeserved margin. Atrocious officiating hurting mostly Matatū. This is not good enough from a ref that is supposed to be NZ's best female ref.
-
Great to watch, tho, and they are playing with a much better attitude than mens. Smiles all round during the game
-
@stargazer I thought that the ref let the Matatū get away with taking players out in front of the ruck, so it went both ways. The less said about the knock-on interpretation the better.
A big contrast in the defence of Winiata and Holmes at fullback in these 2 games.
So Chiefs vs Blues for the chocolates.
-
@machpants The players were great, it's just when you know that the score could have easily been 14 - 17 to Matatū if the officiating had been better, than I'm not happy about a game. Refs should be better. I guess it's a learning curve, also for the refs, but IIRC, Jenner will be officiating the women's 6 Nations, so she should be better than this.

I'd put my money on the Chiefs.
